You talked and talked all night,
And I hung on to every letter.
That left your mouth so eager,
I was beginning to feel much better.
You were not so happy,
As you seemed to be.
Marriage only locked you up,
And threw away the key.
As dawn came closer toward us,
I could see a gleaming tear.
My emotions finally coming through,
You trusted me with your fear.
You want to stay and be happy,
That's what you said to me.
You wanted to be loved,
You wanted to be free.
As light came through the window,
Brightening your face.
You told me that you wanted to stay,
Right here in your rightful place.
