Blood demons

chapter 5

The banging continued, at the door and the window. I was trying to signal to Seth to hide but he just kept banging. Soon I was screaming at him through the glass and ended up banging on the glass myself. I knew he understood what I was saying but he was too stubborn to do anything. I heard a final crash at the door and to my horror the blood demon was standing right behind me. All I could do was stand there. Seth stopped banging and when I turned round I realised why. He was now kneeling on the ground and his skin was flaking away. Soon I felt warm tears trickling down my face and I heard the most blood curdling scream as he turned to dust. All I could do was stand there and cry. I shouted as loud as I could as the demon leapt over me. My life was over as I knew it.

When I woke up I knew I wasn't dead because I could feel dried tears on my face. My eyes stung and my throat was soar and all I could do was stare.

All around me were blood demons. Their gaping mouths were wide open and I didn't know what was going on. Then another blood demon came. But this one was different. They were taller and bigger and their moth was shut and almost smiling. "Well, I see you've made it." I couldn't believe my ears. It spoke, it actually spoke. "You can speak?" I said, but it only came out as a whisper.

"Of course"

"But none of the others can..."

"No. They just can't speak English"

"What am I doing here?!"

"You are here to fulfil a little mission for me"

"And what makes you think I'll do that?"

"You don't understand, do you? I'm here to help you."

"You killed my friend!"

"No. Your friend killed himself. But if you really want me to prove that I'm on your side then I will be more than happy to bring him back. You see, you have a date with destiny. You control the fate of the world. I need you to go somewhere and stop the real villain."

He paused and waited for me to say something "how do you think I'm gonna do that then?"

"Well it is said that you find your power when you are in the uttermost danger. And I'm sure that Seth will teach you a few skills to help you. I need you to go to this address. There someone will be waiting for you. You can stay there for a few days and train and after you can set out on your Journey. Go to this address" He paused and gave a note. "Oh and I have already created a twin of you so your parents won't suspect a thing. It talks walks and thinks like you. All your memories, everything"

And with that I was back down to earth and Seth was standing next to me. I hugged him "I thought you were gone forever." I cried. Seth stood there and smiled but soon realised that we were outside "Hey, I don't want to die for a third time!" Third... Oh the living dead!

We were just about to run into the house when Tristan appeared from round the corner. "Look what the cat dragged in..." Said Seth as Tristan Approached. Tristan gave Seth a scowled smile and then looked at my face. I must have still been pretty shaken up cause he looked at me and said something that no one should ever say! "Woah, who died?" Seth gritted his teeth "me actually." Tristan looked really confused so we all went inside and explained it to him.

I quickly went upstairs but could hear someone. I froze and slowly walked to my room. I should have realised who it was. My twin. It was so weird. She was just sitting there on my bed. I crept away just in case she wasn't allowed to see me because she thought she was me, or something. Either way I didn't want to talk to her because it's too creepy.

I went back downstairs. Tristan spun round "I thought you were going to pack." Excuse time "well you guys aren't packing and I need to buy some more clothes anyway. I've just got a bag and some money. I want to travel light." They had bought it because then no one said a word and we headed out the door. It was a good idea to travel light any way.

But just as I had thought I was getting away with it Tristan spoke up "So what's your mum gonna say when she finds you missing?" We all paused. I may as well tell the truth "The demon guy, he said that he was making a twin for me." They shrugged and we carried on the journey.

"Hey, so where going anyways?" Tristan asked as we walked along. Me and Seth just groaned. And we all plodded along towards the house...
