It took a little while to get there. Ok that was an understatement. It took forever. Yet after three bus trips, on train ride and half an hour of walking we got there. "Ugh" grimaced Tristan as we reached the house. You could easily see why when you got there.
It looked like one of those houses off a cheesy horror movie or something. It looked bleak and grey. Old and although it was all made out of stone it even had a mouldy wood quality to it.
"Are you sure this is the right house?" questioned Tristan as he slowly backed off. "Hey, we're working for some creepy demons. I think you can expect a creepy house" replied Seth. Yep. He nailed that one. "So... is anyone going to knock?" I asked. Silence fell. Seth finally rolled his eyes and stepped up to the house. Me and Tristan quietly followed him. He stepped up to the house and raised his fist. After what seemed a decade he knocked on the door. But it was so quiet that not even another vampire with supersensitive hearing could hear it.
I just rolled my eyes and marched up to the door. I felt a sudden surge of courage pelt through me. But as soon as I raised my hand to knock the door swung open.
Standing there was a woman. She was old, short and looked about as fragile as a melting ice cube. She had grey hair and was wearing a floral dress. She looked perfectly human to me but something about her smile wasn't right.
"Ahh" She remarked, "Chloe". How did she know my name? "Umm, how did you, umm, you know my name?" She gave a small giggle and replied with wide eyes "I can read minds." For a second we all stood there in disbelief but then she rolled her eyes (too much eye rolling) and spoke. "No of course I can't read minds; Asketel told me you were coming." Puzzled we stood there.
"Umm, who is Asketel?" questioned Tristan. She sighed. "You better come inside." We all walked inside. "Be careful deary, you wouldn't want to be trapped in the door" she said as Tristan stepped in. The inside of her house was almost a completely different place. Everything was up to date and looked new and Modern. "Woah" whistled Tristan when he finally stepped in. "How come it's so great in here and so...oww" I thought I better interrupt him before he got rude. "We'll, I have to keep a low profile. I can afford to buy lots but don't want lots of nosey neighbours popping round. They're particularly friendly around this time of year."
"Ok..." mumbled Seth as we walked into the other room. It was the lounge and even more classy than the hallway. She beckoned us to sit on a chair and we perched ourselves on the leather sofa. She slumped down in a chair next to a wide screen TV and began to talk.
"Asketel is a loyal friend of the master's."
"If the what?" Asked Tristan.
"The one who sent you?" She replied looking confused.
"Oh that master..."
"Well" She continued, "Asketel is part demon just like you three."
WHAT! I'm... "Umm, I'm sorry, did you just say three? I'm not demon and neither is Tri...."
Slowing turning to Tristan I looked at him and so did Seth. He grinned guiltily "Hey, You didn't know you were a demon either..."
"What do you mean I didn't know? OF COURSE I DIDN'T KNOW! BUT YOU KNEW YOU WERE A DEMON!"
"No. Like I said, I didn't know I was a demon."
"NO. You even said on the day we met. I'm demon... I mean Human, I knew something was wrong."
"No, no, no. You've got it all wrong..."
"And why would you want to hide it..."
The argument was interrupted by the old lady.
