Seth's POV

I had never realised how hard Tristan's life had been, although I do envy him for being able to tell his tragic past. He gained so much attention from it, and I've never shared my story with anyone. Probably because they would hate me and leave me if I did. Yet I wish that I could tell them anyway.

I wish I could tell them that I have been caught several times by bandits and tortured. I also wish I could tell them that straight after I was sired I murdered my parents. I also wish I could tell them how much pain I have been through to be able to resist human blood...

Yet I would never be able to tell anyone this because I have no reason, whatsoever. So all of this will be kept a secret, till the day they die...or the day I die....unless it is forced out of me.

We all stood up in unison and began to slowly walk down the path. I guess all of us needed time to think. "Ohh, look a squirrel!" said Tristan pointing at a tree branch. Ok then...everyone except Tristan. Nobody answered him or even looked at the tree, and he shut up and carried on walking. I know he was only trying to lighten the mood, but it wasn't the right time.

It was so confusing, how he could act so happy. As if none of this had ever happened and it was just another normal day, as if we'd never come on this 'great' quest, as if we had never met Maggie and... "S**t!" I exclaimed. They all turned round to look at me. "Umm...what's the matter Seth?" questioned Destiny, "What the hell happened to Maggie?! Where exactly did her body go?" the others turned round to look at Tristan. His eyes were widening and we all knew what it meant...but Chloe asked anyway. "You did hide the body? Didn't you?" Tristan stayed silent and all of a sudden rushed past us and began sprinting down the road.

Like sheep in a field we decided to follow him and ran down the road after him.

How could he be such an idiot as to leave Maggie lying there? Ugh! How can he....just How! Why is he like that, he's just...just...Tristan. We continued to follow but at completely different paces. I was far ahead of everyone and barley out of breath, due to my vampire skills, and Destiny and Asketel didn't seem to be too far behind. I felt sorry for Chloe, she was lagging behind, I mean, she was only a human. However, I know I can't slow up for her, I was almost overtaking Tristan and, l knew that by the time we reached Maggie, I would be miles ahead of all of them, hopefully this would mean that no-one had seen Maggie...because if they had, there would be a lot of complicated things to sort out.

I was right, I began to overtake Tristan and very soon I was ahead of him. I came to the house and slowed down. But as I came nearer I could hear voices, I looked behind me and couldn't even see the others because I was so far ahead. I peeked round the side of the house and I could see some people talking and trying to revive Maggie. I was actually surprised that she wasn't ripped to pieces and scattered across the lawn during Tristan's little mood swing. Damn. This isn't good, I mean, if they find out how she was wounded, I would be in big trouble with the council, and the blood demons...

I came closer and because of my vampire hearing I could very clearly listen to what they were saying. "The boss is gonna kill us...she could be dead!" whispered one of them

"Look, don't worry ok. No-one's going to stop us and even if they do, these disguises have worked a treat," replied the other.

"yeah...they really do work well, ha, I look just like a stupid human!"

"ye-ah, when you're really a stupid demon instead"

"Hey!, but seriously, do you really think she's going to wake up...she's almost as strong as the boss, we can't afford to lose her...and he really knows how to kill someone."

"Look, she'll be fine, we'll just take her to medical and no-one will get hurt. Those stupid kids will go on their pointless quest, and when they get there. BAM! We all attack and draw the inside power from the girl. We kill the vampire and the demon-boy and then we trap the only one that could have a chance of defeating us...what's his name, thingy...umm...Tristan! That's it."

"Yeah, that's sounds all very well and good but I heard that they've got another one with them as well, she's the same race as the demon boy."

"Well then, it won't matter will it, will just kill her too..."

They both began to laugh and I bit my lip. I didn't exactly want to launch myself in there but for some reason the guy's still weren't back and I had to do something. I scanned the ground for a pebble. I needed to scare them away so that Maggie was left and we could kill her for sure. I didn't want to fight someone that was just as powerful as their boss, again.

I could only find a small stick, but it was too late because when I looked up all they had all gone and the others came running behind me. "Seth" Tristan gasped "You run, ah, way too fast." Destiny smirked. "Yeah, you've gotta give us time to catch up with you. Plus, with your unnatural speed, don't you think that other people are going to notice you."

"No, guy's I don't have time for this! The mission, the blood demons, look, they really are bad!" They stared at me in disbelief. "Please you have to believe me, there were these blood demons, but they were disguised as humans, and they took away Maggie!" again they didn't say a word. "They're going to heal her! Guy's come one! You have to believe me!"

"Seth...I'm sorry but it doesn't really sound believable to me..." muttered Chloe. She hung her head in shame because she felt bad...but that way I knew that she was telling the truth...she truly didn't believe me...
