Fateful Encounter

I was looking for Midori as she slipped from my hands. I was wearing my usual combat attire. (See pic above) We were at a small village getting a few supplies for the road but I guess she saw something and wondered off. I see a man with a red cape holding a flask. Hope he ain't too drunk.

"Excuse me sir have you seen a little girl about eight years old white hair wearing a witch hat?" He looks at me.

???: "Lost your sister, kid?"

"She's my daughter."

???: "Not to be an ass, but you look too young to have an eight year old daughter."

"It's complicated anyways have you seen her?"

???: "Nope sorry...." He stops and stares at the distance. "Yeah she's right there." He points behind me and I see her looking at something.

"Thanks." I turn and walk towards her.

???: "No problem kid."

I made my way towards Midori and see that she is eyeing a small stuffed animal. I think I see a few sparkles coming from her. Gotta say it looked rather cute, it was a white rabbit holding a carrot.

"Excuse me sir how much for the rabbit." I ask the shop owner and Midori looks at me with glee in her eyes.

Shopkeeper: "ten lien." I pay him and grab the rabbit and hand it to Midori. She hugs it tightly and grabs my hand. We walk towards the inn I rented for us to sleep in till we moved along the road. Midori sits on the bed and looks at the new bunny she got.

Midori: "Now papa won't be alone." She says this and pulls out the stuff chibi toy of myself in my combat attire she personally made about a year ago. I couldn't help but smile under my mask.

"Get some sleep we are leaving in the morning." I lay down on the bed while she still looked at her new gift. Before sleep takes over me I feel a bit of weight on my chest and see Midori has layed on me.

Midori: "Your the best papa." I look at her and notice she instantly fell asleep. Hm never saw myself having a family especially this early in my life. I always had no remorse for my contract but you. You make me feel weak, but I like it. I let sleep take me into the next day.

Timeskip

We were walking in the woods towards the next town. I look at Midori and see her carrying a bag that was about half her size. I don't know if it's the Grimm DNA, my DNA, or the faunus DNA but she has some insane strength and stamina. I offered to carry it but she refused saying.

Midori: "I'll make papa proud!!"

This girl is too much. I heard a snap in the distance and raised my hand to tell Midori to stop. I listened closely trying to identify who that was. I heard a distant growl and knew it was Grimm. I pull my curved greatsword out and attached it to the staff on my back turning it into a scythe.

"Stay close Midori." She rushes next to me and holds on to my leg. I focused my senses and heard three beowolfs coming from the north, east and west. Just three great. Midori will be safe.

"Let go of my leg Midori so I can protect you." She complies but stays very close. I was about ready to attack when someone else beat me to the punch. I hear three thuds and someone walks out of the distance.

"Your that drunk man from before."

Qrow: "Names Qrow kid and I know what you are, or what you used to be." I raised my blade towards him.

"And what are you getting at?"

Qrow: "Someone wants to help you protect her." He points at Midori causing her to rush behind me. I lower my weapon.
