New Friend

POV Midori

I sat in the park waiting while I think what papa would say when he finds me. I try to do what papa says and stay close to him or big sis but I get distracted easily. He will probably scold me but it usually isn't bad he's a nice papa. Though being here alone makes me feel nervous and I can feel myself get slightly hot and sweaty. Oh no I'm getting scared just do what papa said think of something happy. I begin to picture my future with papa and how I will be with him and many mamas. I think about how many siblings I will have as well. The thought of having a big family and no longer being alone makes me happy and calms me down a bit. As I think about my happy future I remembered when papa promised to give me my happy future.

Flashback

This was before I got to know papa so well. I was in a room papa bought for four days, he said he was gonna go out for a bit. It felt like he was gone for a long time so I got scared that he left me. When he finally came back I was crying.

F/N: "What's wrong Midori I just went out to get you some food?"

"Y-you .....were g-gone for...... so l-long papa. I got s-scared...... that you .......l-left me l-like mama ....... d-did."

F/N: "Midori how many times do I have to tell you she didn't leave you."

"I-I... K-know but it still h-hurts papa."

F/N: "I was only gone for ten minutes at most why did you think I left you?"

"I-It f-felt l-like you were gone f-for a long time."

F/N: "Isolophobia."

"Huh?"

F/N: "The fear of being alone is called isolophobia."

"Isalupobia?"

F/N: "Iso-lo-pho-bia."

"Isolophobia." Papa smiles at me.

F/N: "Look at you learning a big word." I couldn't help but laugh at my first big word. "Social Anxiety and Isolophobia you seriously got it rough kiddo." He pats my head. "I promise you this Midori I will do whatever it takes so you won't feel alone anymore. I'll give you the happy future you deserve." He grabs me and held me close. At that moment I felt something in me I never had. A feeling mama tried to give me but I never could in that place. I felt happy. I hugged him back as I wanted to never let this feeling go away.

Present

I opened my eyes feeling joy from when papa gave me my first feeling of happiness and noticed someone sitting next to me. I started to get nervous again and looked to the side to try and not meet their eyes. From the corner of my eye I realized they were wearing something familiar like I have seen the outfit before. I slowly turn my head and see more and more of here clothes I noticed who they were.

"Ice-Cream lady?" She looks at me and smiles. She reaches out to me with her hand and I think about what I should do. Papa will come for me so I should stay here but I don't want to be alone. I reach slowly for her hand as she looks at me with a warm look. I stopped and took back my hand. "Papa would be upset if he doesn't find me here." She looks at me with a bit of a sad look. "What's your name?" She looked at me with a bit of a sad expression. "What's wrong Ice-Cream Lady?" She pulls out her scroll and begins to type something. When she finished she showed me what she wrote.

Ice-Cream Lady: "My name is Neo and I can't talk."

"Oh I'm sorry I hope I didn't hurt your feelings." She smiles at me and types again in her scroll.
