Survival

I stayed up at night as the rest of the group slept. Kohina was asleep clinging to her father. It reminded me of Midori and how she would cling to me the first few years we have been together.

"How are you holding up?" Death asked.

"It's only the first day. Ask me again when we are a week in." I replied.

"Ragnarok's influence is still unknown to us. You could be affected sooner than we think." Death replied.

"Right... Though I can't hear him anymore and my health has increased. I cough every now and then." I said.

"Your health may have improved but it's temporary. As long as I possess you your health won't deteriorate beyond a certain point. However, I can't possess you forever." Death said.

"F/N..." Terra said waking up.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"For now." I replied throwing wood at the fire.

"Do you want to rest?" She asked.

"I can't. Sleeping ends possession and I will begin to weaken." I replied.

"Is there anything I can do?" She asked.

"Just rest. We have a long way to go." I replied.

"Okay..." She said laying down on my lap, "Please don't push yourself to much." She added. She then quickly dozed off.

"I can't promise that." I said.

The next morning we all began to travel through the woods. I lead the way while Terra was next to me. Personally I would have her watch the rear, but I have no time to have distrust over our allies. Also Terra feels better if she was next to me, after all I am actually very winded, "You need a break my boy?" He asked.

"No thanks... Kagetane." I replied.

"You sure?" He asked again.

"We don't... have time... to waste." I said.

"F/N let's take a rest." Terra requested.

"Listen you haven't slept in three days. Despite your tolerance you can't keep this up." My master said.

"I'll rest tonight, let's just get some progress today." I replied.

"You will rest tonight?" Terra asked.

"Yes." I said stopping for a moment. I began glancing through the woods.

"Something wrong?" Kagetane asked.

"Grimm." I said pulling out my scythe. Though it was really heavy, "Damn it..." I mumbled.

"Let me handle this." Terra said.

"I have other ways of fighting." I said as my scythe began to burn in black flames. It shrank in size and had a chain attached to the end.

"I see you still follow my teachings." Kagetane said.

"Can I start cutting the monsters papa?" Kohina asked.

"Up to our leader." He replied.

"Let's go." I said running out towards a pack of Beowolves. I toss my scythe and it hooks itself into the eye of a Beowolf. I pull the chain and drag it towards me. Kohina took this moment to slice it's arms off and Terra began to Separate the rest of the pack with stone walls.
