I Need You(Vikings-Hvitserk Ragnarsson:Part 3)

*Hvitserk's pov*

When we got to Wessex I was a bit more worried Aelle's forces were small but we weren't sure on Ecbert's...I stood looking down at Selby "Won't you consider staying with Ivar and your father."

Selby shook her head "For the last time Hvitserk no."

I sighed "You stubborn woman."

She pulled me down by my armor "I have to be to deal with you...trust me I'll be okay...."

I smiled down at her "I love you."

Selby smiled "I love you too.."

I caught her lips in a brief kiss "Be safe my wife."

She smiled "You too dear husband."

I smiled as she walked off "What?"

Bjorn chuckled "Focus Hvitserk."

I nodded "I am."

He nodded "You better I don't want to deal with your wife if you get hurt."

I smiled...to my surprise Ivar's planned worked we were victorious with Ecbert's forces retreating...I frowned when I saw Harald helping Selby "Floki!"

Floki's eyes widened when he saw Selby holding her side quickly rushing to her

I jumped down rushing after him "Selby.."

Harald nodded "She's fine big fella slammed her probably going to be rather sore later...she's a tough one I covered her the best I could."

I took her face in my hands "My stubborn stubborn wife.."

Selby frowned "Just so you know their armor hurts...and having breast doesn't make it hurt any less."

I nodded pressing a kiss to her forehead "Ride with Ivar okay rest as much as you can."

She nodded "Okay.."

I helped her up "Keep her safe Ivar."

Ivar nodded "You know I will.."

I nodded...by the time we got to Ecbert's Selby seemed to feel better sore but okay...but we all took a hit especially Floki and Selby...the girl Helga adopted killed her then herself...Selby was devastated her and Helga were so close beyond mother and daughter and Floki we all knew this is what would send him over the edge and not even Selby could bring him back...in a deal we were given land in exchange for Ecbert getting to choose his own death not that I was exactly thrilled about it but my main concern was my wife and thankfully they understood that especially Ivar...now that we were mostly set up a feast was being prepared...I found Selby standing against a tree that looked almost identical to the one in Kattegat where we shared our very first kiss "What do you have there?"

Selby sighed "Its the necklace she gave me when we got married same one she wore when she married father...did you know she was pregnant with Angrboda when they wed...."

I shook my head wrapping my arms around her "No I didn't...I know he was on a raid with my father when she was born..."

She nodded "You know I wish I could of known her I was so little when she passed from fever.."

I nodded "I don't remember much of her."

Selby sighed "I don't think father is going to be okay....I know he loves me but mama was is world his entire being...and he's not going to be the same."

I nodded "He has you."

She nodded "I hope you're right."

I pressed a kiss to her cheek "Come the feast is nearly ready."
