I Need You(Vikings-Hvitserk Ragnarsson:Part 6)

*Hvitserk's pov*

I was trying to keep my head where Ivar was with this war but the further along Selby got the more I started to think about a much bigger picture bigger than avenging my mother or dealing with my brothers..I was thinking of the future of my children...Selby was taking this in stride forming a bond with this slave girl of Ivar's...I think she misses the companionship she had in Kattegat with there being more females around...she was showing down...I didn't care for Harald at all but he was almost fatherly towards Selby making sure she had anything she could need with this pregnancy so I kept quiet...I found Selby sitting with Jorunn sewing...I smiled softly as Jorunn jumped up "Sit you're keeping my wife busy so she's not stressing about the battle..I appreciate that dearly."

Jorunn nodded sitting down "Yes Prince Hvitserk."

I smiled down at my wife "What are we making my love?"

Selby smiled up at me "I figured you could use a new tunic...Jorunn has been making Ivar new ones so I figured I'd make you one for the battle."

I smiled "I couldn't possibly wear it in battle I wouldn't want anything to happen to it...save it I shall wear it when we return."

She looked at me "Hvitserk."

I nodded "I'm leaving you here Selby."

Selby sat up "Hvitserk no."

I sighed "Jorunn can you give us a moment please."

She stood up "Certainly I should get these to Ivar anyways."

I watched her walk off before looking at my wife "Love.."

Selby sighed "How could you want to leave me here Hvitserk I hate it here...I want to go home...I don't care if it's York or Kattegat.."

I nodded placing my hand on her swollen belly "This is why...trust me I would love to keep you close but battle is no place for you right now...here I know you're protected Ivar has set up a group just to protect you and the baby...and he's leaving Jorunn here so you're not alone."

She sighed deeply "Hvitserk."

I lifted her small hands placing a kiss to her knuckles "I know my love."

Selby nodded "Okay...promise me you'll be okay."

I nodded "Anything to keep you both safe."

A slave walked up "Pardon me Prince Hvitserk..Prince Ivar requested for you and Princess Selby to come to him he says it's important."

I nodded "We'll be right there."

She nodded and walked off..

I stood up helping Selby up "Let's go see what he wants."

Selby nodded following me "Wonder what's going on?"

I shrugged "I don't know."

She nodded as we found Ivar sitting with Jorunn "What's going on?"

Ivar smiled widely "Well I took Selby's advice I freed Jorunn."

I raised an eyebrow "Okay?"

He smiled "She had agreed to marry me...after the battle with Lagertha."

Selby gasped "Oh my gods really?"

Ivar smiled "I thought about what you said Selby and you were right I was holding a grudge towards every woman for what Margrethe did she had her own agenda and I wasn't apart of it...Jorunn makes me happy."

I glanced at Selby who had a genuine smile on her face...i nodded with a smile "I'm happy for you brother."

He smiled "Can't let big brother have all the happiness."
