Our Secret(Vikings-Ubbe/Hvitserk Ragnarsson:Part 2)

*Brenna's pov*

I felt like my world was falling apart everyone now knew of the failed engagement of me and Ubbe and him sleeping with the slave girl Margrethe..after Hvitserk and Bjorn left and Ragnar left with Ivar Lagertha made her move taking over Kattegat and killing Aslaug with the help of Margrethe...I sat by the water trying to clear my head when Sigurd sat down "Hey...how are you."

Sigurd sighed "Confused I know I should be angry but I feel nothing."

I nodded "I get it.."

He sighed deeply "I wanted to tell you before you find out from someone else...Ubbe freed Margrethe..he's going to marry her."

I sighed softly "Can't say I'm surprised by that."

Sigurd nodded "I don't agree with Ivar on much of anything but he was right Ubbe made a huge mistake...Margrethe is beautiful yes but you have beauty on the inside and out and a truly beautiful heart that completely matches that beautiful smile and that gorgeous face."

I gave him a faint smile "But at the same time it wasn't enough I've lost everything Sigurd...I find myself wondering why I'm still here."

He nodded "Because I still need you here...Ivar will need you when he returns...and Hvitserk cares deeply about you."

I nodded "You three are the only reason I'm staying."

Sigurd nodded "Come eat with me can't let my dearest friend eat alone."

I nodded standing up "Of course."

He nodded "Come.."

I nodded and followed him...I sat eating and talking to Sigurd and a few others deciding to ignore Ubbe as much as I could my emotions were still raw and after what Sigurd told me I didn't trust my emotions to stay buried...I looked up meeting his gaze..I shook my head "Sigurd thank you but I must turn in..."

Sigurd nodded "Goodnight Brenna."

I nodded "Goodnight."

He nodded

I sighed standing up to walk out...I didn't hear anyone following me until I was pulled against the barn "Ubbe."

Ubbe sighed "Why are you ignoring me you haven't said two words to me."

I sighed "What is there to say Ubbe...you made your decision and I made mine.."

He sighed "It's not that easy Brenna...I still love you."

I scoffed "Please save me that bullshit if you loved me this wouldn't be happening you wouldn't be marrying some slave girl and I wouldn't be so heartbroken."

Ubbe sighed "Who told you?"

I sighed "Why does it matter...you didn't have the balls to tell me yourself.."

He sighed "Brenna."

I shook my head "I loved you Ubbe I was ready to be the wife I was expected to be but that wasn't enough...go live your happy life with Margrethe and forget about me I'll be fine."

Ubbe crashes his lips to mine pulling me into my house slamming my back into the wall as he pulled my dress up

I melted into him I knew this wasn't right but at this point I didn't care I needed this closure...I laid beside him a moment before getting up putting on a night dress "This won't happen again."

He sighed getting up and started to get dressed "I know.."

I sighed deeply "I hope you are happy with her Ubbe."
