Part One: Facing Off Against Leviathan
When I snap out of my stupor, I tell Michael to call back his army from attacking Leviathan, he does, I thank him, and then I start giving orders. "DEELEX, put us all back on the normal com frequency," I command.
"Yes, sir... Done." she replies.
"Thanks, Dee-Dee. Everyone, listen up: Gabriel, keep helping the Arcs. Everyone else, new objective: You remember that roar we heard earlier? That was a Leviathan."
"Leviathan?" asks John. "You mean, as in the biblical sea monster?"
"The same," I reply. "It's real, and we're taking it out. Report to my coordinates at once."
"Yes, sir," they all reply.
When they get to me, John asks me, "So, where's this oversized lizard at?"
I point to it, and they all look at it as it starts shooting fire out of its mouth. John jumps back from where he is in the air next to me and says, "Aw, HELL naw!! I knew you was messed up in the head before, D, but now I know that you done completely lost yo mind! Uh-uh. No. Not a chance. No. Final answer."
"That was an order, John. 'Twas not a request," I respond sternly.
"Fine," he says, "but only because we cool. And you owe me."
"I'm fine with that," I say. "Now, here's the plan: Tia and I will break the horns off Leviathan's head, while those of you who can move fast distract it. While it's distracted from the pain of having its bones broken, we will manually drive the horns into both of Leviathan's eyes. If it can't see, it can't defend. Ky will vibrate the scales that I will mark in strategically placed locations on the monster at a resonating frequency, and Tia and I will rip them off as fast as we can. On my mark, everyone else will attack where I tell you to. Once I call you back, Lian, Ky, and I will deliver the final blow. DEELEX will calculate when and where we are to drive the horns in, and display it on screen in our masks. Got it?"
"Yes sir," they all reply.
Part Two: Killing Leviathan
We spring into action, and everything goes according to plan. John, Flora, Ky, and Lian draw its attention, and Tia and I snap the horns off Leviathan's head. It howls in pain, and I almost go deaf, but we keep moving forward with the plan.
I say to Tia, "When DEELEX tells us to drive the horns, I want you to move as fast as you can along the course she's going to plot."
"But, what if I miss?" she asks. "I'll only get one shot at this."
"If you don't deviate from the course," I reply, "then you'll be fine. Don't think about it. Just move. If it helps, imagine that big, glowing, bright red eye as your father's non-existent heart."
"It helps. Thanks, David," she says with a smile.
"It's only because I love you," I say as I smile back.
"I love you too, David," she replies with an even bigger smile.
DEELEX plots our trajectory, and gives us the countdown.
"Five..." she starts.
"You ready?" I ask Tia.
"Four..."
"As I'll ever be," she replies.
"Three... two... one... now!"
At that moment, we both charge from where we are in the air, and we drive the horns into both of Leviathan's eyes at the same time. As it sprawls around in the air, I slow down my perspective of time and begin marking the designated areas with energized ice.
