Sarah's POV

"Hello?" I asked, trying to register where I knew the person from. As I said so, she rasied her head, and began to stare at me.

"Hey." She replied. What was that meant to mean? Did she want me to invite her in? Why couldn't I put a name to her face. "Ermm, is Dan in?" She asked, walking up another step, and peering into the house.

"No sorry, not right now.. Can I pass on a message?" I asked, still unable to recall who she was and how I knew her. As I replied, she sighed and pushed her hands into her pockets.

"Oh right, ok.." She then said, still not leaving the doortstep. Did she want in the house? Perhaps i should ask, after all she knows Dan.

"Do you want to come in?" I suggested, hoping she would open up to me a little more if I did so.

"Ok, Sure." She replied, willingly. What did she want from me?

She followed me through into the living room where we both sat down, opposite each other. I asked if she would like a drink, but she declined the offer so i remained seated. We sat very awkwardly, in silence for a while. The irritable sense of not knowing who she was began to build up inside of me. Would it be rude to ask who she was? I decided not to, hoping that it would come back to me sometime or other.

"So exactly, where is Dan, then?" She broke the silence. I didn't know whether to tell her the exact details of his location so i just kept it breif by replying;

"He's at some meeting." The girl rolled her eyes at my reply, but said no more. Instead, she pulled her iPhone out of her pocket and began to frantically tap on the screen. Soon, we were engulfed in another awkward silence. Just as i was about to ask something, my phone began to loudly ring, making both me and her jump a little. It was Dan.

"I'll just go and get this." I whispered, pointing to the phone. She looked up, nodded and then returned to her phone. I walked into the hallway for some privacy, and answered the call.

"Hey," Said Dan's voice on the other end of the line. "How are you?"

"Fine," I replied, wondering whether to mention the visitor. "Dan? Were you expecting anyone?" I asked, briefly, hoping he would know what i meant.

"No, why? Is someone at the house Sarah?" He asked, sounding flustered.

"Yes, there's a girl here. I recognise her but i cannot remember where from. She was wanting to speak to you but I told her you werent in." I replied, trying not to panick him too much.

"Oh god. I don't know who it could be.. Erm ask her who she is maybe, if you can, and ring me back if you nedd me, Okay?" He suggested, perhaps i should just ask her who she is, it wouldnt do any harm, would it? I hung up on Dan, and placed my phone back into my pocket, and returned to the living room. I noticed she wasn't on the sofa anymore, as soon as I walked in. I turned around to see her in the corner of the room, gazing out the window that overlooked the garden. As soon as she saw me, she shuffled back over to her seat, looking a little embarrased.

"I think I better be getting off now," The girl said, making her way back over to me. She slowly walked past towards the door, which i then opned for her. This was so strange, I still had no idea who she was or what she was doing here, but secretly, i was quite glad she was leaving. Just as she was about to leave the house she stopped and turned around.

"Sorry, I dont think I caught your name, did I?" She asked as she turned around, at the the bottom of the doorstep. This could be my chance to ask her.

"I'm Sarah," I smiled, "And you are?" I asked, hoping this would give me a clearer insight into who she was, and why she was here.

"Tara," She smiled, brushing her long dark hair, off her face. The name still didn't register in my head... "I'm Dan's girlfriend." She then said, smiling an with that, she walked off down the driveway, her long hair, swishing from side to side.

What. I stood still, my body locked in position. This didnt explain anything. In fact it only made me more confused. His girlfriend? But I am Dan's girlfriend, or at least I thought I was. I was pregnant with HIS baby, and she was claiming to be his girlfriend. It didn't make sense. Was Dan cheating on me? Or was this just some kind of big mixup.
