Dan's POV
I ran out of the meeting after saying my goodbyes to Woody, Kyle and Will. They had booked tickets for a later train home but I couldn't wait that long to see Sarah.
I ran as fast as I could to the station, and jumped onto the train that was already waiting on the platform. It was packed, so I had no option but to sit next to a stranger who looked initially reluctant to share her seat with me. I didn't care about her, my mind was so focused on returning to Sarah.
My mind was so occupied I hadn't realised the ticket officer was standing next to me, rather impatiently. The girl sitting next to me, violently nudged me on the arm to make me realise that she was waiting for me.
"Sorry." I said to the officer, who then nodded and gave me a look of disapproval. "Can I have a single from Manchester to Oxford please." I asked, as she tapped something into the little machine she was holding. within seconds my ticket appeared and she placed it firmly in my palm.

After a few hours of traveling, I finally reached Oxford, then got onto another train to Sarah's village. I hoped I wasn't too late and begged for her to just be okay.
As I stepped out onto the platform, I saw a friend I hadn't seen in a while, standing there.
"Tara?" I asked, confused as to why she was here. "What are you doing here?" Wanting an explanation. As I asked she embraced me with a hug, which I quickly withdrew from, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"Hey Dan..." She replied, "I was looking for you." She admitted, tucking her hair behind her ears. I wasn't really sure why she wanted to see me, as we had only met once (on a night out) but I was intrigued to know what was the matter.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go out somewhere, you know to catch up.. After all, it's been so long." She suggested.
I didn't know what to say. I really wasn't in the mood, but I didn't want to sound rude. I needed to get back to see Sarah.
"Sorry, I'm in a hurry to get back home.. Maybe another time?" I said apologetically, still a little unsure as to why she wanted to see me.

Sarah's POV
I couldn't watch. They seemed to be talking for a while before Dan finally said goodbye and walked off. I managed to catch a glimpse of their conversation, saying they would meet up soon, making me feel even more like the whole thing was true.
I couldn't go home. I wouldn't know what to say. I remained seated on the bench for a while. Tara walked around the platform, obviously waiting for her train. I really hoped she hadn't seen me.
After another hour or so, a train pulled up at the platform and she got on to it. I decided to go back now, so stood up and began to walk back along the path. As I did so, I heard footsteps behind me, becoming louder and louder.
The feeling I was being watched again came flooding back. I decided to pick up speed until I was briskly walking down the track.
"Sarah?" Said a vaguely familiar voice from behind me. I turned around to see Kyle standing there.
"Oh, errm.. Hi." I said awkwardly, feeling a little embarrassed that I had tried to run away from him.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, "Where's Dan?" Oh. What should I say? A part of me wanted open up to him. Tell him everything, but the other half wanted to hold back and keep in my secrets.
"Not sure.." I said. "I just came out for a walk." I replied, very unconvincingly. I could feel tears forming in the corner of my eyes, as much as I tried to stop them, I could feel them slowly running down my cheeks.
"What's the matter?" He asked, noticing that I was beginning to cry. I would have to tell him now. I had no option to do otherwise. I didn't reply to his question. Unsure of what to say and unable to get any words out.
"Do you want me to walk you home?" Kyle asked thoughtfully.
I shook my head. I couldn't face Dan right now and wouldn't know what to say to him.
"How about I take you back to mine then?" He suggested. I felt bad for doing so, but I couldn't resist the offer. At least it would for me some time to clear my thoughts.

Dan's POV
I ran home as fast as I could. I was a really bad runner but I didn't care about that right now. I just wanted to make sure Sarah was alright. I sped along the footpath, my backpack violently hitting my back every so often.
I approached the house, my nerves building up inside of me. I begged or her to be okay, I already felt bad for leaving her alone.
I dug around in my bag for my key and pushed it into the lock. It opened with a little click and I walked in.
"Sarah?" I called out. Silence. The whole house was deadly silent. Where the hell was she? I began to panic.
I tried to ring her but the call fell through leaving me even more worried. What should I do?
I decided to head over to Kyle's place. He would definitely be ball by now and would have some sort of answer to what was happening. I dropped my bags and ran back out the house towards the bus stop. A bus arrived shortly after, so I quickly hopped on and sat down.
The journey seemed to take forever even though it was only a matter of minutes before I reached the bus stop nearest to his house. I stumbled out the door and continued to run along the street. I was becoming seriously out of breath but I kept on running, before everything was too late.
I arrived outside of Kyle's, tired after the running I had just done. The door was slightly ajar so I made my way inside, the sound of Kyle talking to someone becoming louder as I made my way in. The sound was coming from the living room, so I decided to make my way over there, hoping I wasn't disturbing anything.
I stepped into the doorway to see Kyle's arms wrapped around someone, whispering something into her ear. They looked pretty comfortable in each others company so I took a step back, thinking maybe now wasn't the right time.
As I stepped back, the floorboard creaked under my feet, as it did so, they both jumped up. I couldn't quite understand what was going on as I looked up, for there was Sarah, next to Kyle. Was there something they weren't telling me?
