What do we seek as humans??
Love or lust
Two people like each other
They have that in common
But not much else
They talk, and he delivers automated responses
She pours her heart out and he pours it right back in with pitiful words like I'm sorry
He kisses her, she feels like she has something to prove
He keeps going, keeps expecting more, until one day she draws the line
Maybe the line was already there
but him ignoring it has led her to believe that it didn't exist
He tells her his plans for the future, which do not include a family
He doesn't ask about hers
He tells her she's beautiful but not much else
She tells him he's amazing
He dismisses it.
But why would someone choose lust over love?
Do they not see themselves with a future?
But he's already explained to her that he has a plan for his future
So that must not be it
Is he excited by the joyride of one night stands?
Perhaps, but she has a suspicion
People have warned her again and again
She tired of it
To want lust more than love is impossible
She tells him about her parents and siblings
He keeps quiet
She asks him about his
He tells her their names, but those he was forced to learn
Only love forces you to know that your mom is hilarious
And that your dad is so sweet that he'd sit with you all night so you'll feel safe
It seems to her that his parents have given him every material thing he's ever wanted,
let him do what he wants and have what he wantsBut they havent made him feel safe in their arms
They're always moving, always working to give him what he wants but overpassing the one need he's thirsting for
His dry lips are cracked but somehow don't know how to drink
They're is someone ready
Someone with an abundance of love
He says he has no friends
She has too many
He says he wants a real relationship
She's overstocked
She's ready to share, to show him what a real relationship could be like
Full of love in the place of lust
But he refuses her
He is determined that his ways are the only right way
He sees her innocence
He slowly backs away
He brushes away the line
She won't be needing it
And then he moves on to the next girl
Because his heart strings are tied to his rib cage and hes not ready for the painful task of unknoting them
Perhaps he'll never be ready
Maybe he'll find someone who will unknot his strings one by one but for now he'll stay no strings attached
Finding lust in many girls, and expecting the same satisfaction from them as the satisfaction that comes with the love he's craving
His need shows when he talks about his dream, always something with the love of his life
Maybe he never saw it
Maybe he thinks love will come to him even with his deceitful ways
And he will never learn that
Lust sometimes comes with love
but love never comes with lust
