Hugs are the middle zone
The line that we all talk about
Halfway between a handshake
And a kiss
All the uncertainty lies in hugs
They have dual citizenship in love
And in the friend zone
I said I was going to hug you tomorrow
Because I want to every day
Before you go on to the guns
And the camo
And the blood
But I won't hug you tomorrow
Because I know that our hugs lie deep in the friend zone
And that it'll just hurt worse
when I have to let go
and watch you run off
With dog tags around your neck
Knowing those
are all I'm sure I'll get back
