Chapter twenty four
Vincent's P.O.V.
"I don't think she's going to be leaving anytime soon, Vinnie." Tessa said as she slammed the door to my bedroom, closed.
I shut my eyes, and tried to think of happy thoughts: Dana, killing Conrad, ahhh....hurting Alec....
I felt a pain across my cheek as Tessa slapped me. "Ow! What the hell was that for?" I complained.
She shrugged. "Shall I give you a list? You know how good I am with those..."She smiled, evilly.
I rolled my eyes. "Don't even start. I feel horrible about what I said." I rolled over and looked at her with puppy dog eyes.
She wasn't falling for it. "Don't do that. It's creepy."
I glared at her, then sighed, and softened. "What can I do to fix this?"
Tessa thought about for a minute, then sat down on the edge of my bed. She patted my knee and said, "Vinnie, you're going to have to ask your mother that." She smiled softly.
I groaned, "But I made her CRY."
Tessa nodded. "Exactly."
I shut my eyes tight, wanting for all of this to go away. But, it probably wouldn't. "I guess I sort of have to. Considering, she IS my mother..." I trailed off, lost in thought.
Tessa smiled. "That's right. She practically raised you..." She frowned. "Well, raised you to be a vampire."
I laughed with her, "Yeah, you're right. I still remember what she said to me, when I woke up from being turned..."
*Flashback*
My head was aching, and I had the driest mouth...I was so thirsty, it hurt. How is that possible? I wondered...
I felt sick, as I opened my eyes to the bright room...I was in a Victorian style house, a very...RICH house, I was not used to that...
Wait. Why wasn't I used to that? Am I rich? Am I poor? Whose my family? What YEAR is it?
I couldn't remember a thing.
"Don't be afraid."
The soft voice came from beside me, and I could hear the angel-like voice clearly. I turned and looked at the beautiful woman standing before me.
Middle aged? But she was still so beautiful...with the long auburn hair, the bright room shone behind her.
And I could distinctly see every feature she had; chocolate brown eyes, a slender nose, wide lips...and she was still so beautiful.
He's such a gorgeous young boy...we picked so well.
I heard a voice, but I couldn't see anyone's lips moving, it was like it was inside my...head.
I must be going crazy, I'll be institutionalized!
The woman leaned down, and touched my shoulder. "Don't be afraid." She said again, "You're safe with us."
As soon as she said 'us', I smelled someone else there, and turned around and saw a big burly man standing on the other side of me.
He was good looking, and it felt strange to say this...he had a beard, and was muscular, and curly hair...he reminded me of a teddy bear for some reason.
As soon as I looked at him, I felt a pull, right at where my heart was. Or was supposed to be....I don't know. I felt so attached to this man, I felt like I would die for him....and by the look on his face, it looked like he would die for me too.
