Chapter twenty six

Vincent's P.O.V.

"VINCENT! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? OHMIGOD! IM GOING TO KILL YOU, YOU JERK!"

Crap.

That was Tessa's voice, and I could tell she was...more than a bit angry. God, what did I do now?

I was in the dim lighted den, trying to hide from everyone...mostly my mother.

Alec came back a while ago, (yippee) he and Tessa had then spent the whole day talking, and kissing, and all that stuff I would rather not look at.

My mother had forgiven me, she said I was going through some odd 'times'. I think that meant I was being too much of a teenager again.

I heard a door slam, and Tessa's voice was coming from the other room. I shuddered as I heard her stomping towards the den. "VINCENT! DID YOU HEAR ME?" She said as she stormed into the room.

I was scared, by the look on her face. Her expression was a cross between blood curdling scary, and furious.

I put down the book I was reading, and looked up at her, frightened. "Yeah?" I whimpered.

Her nostrils flared, and her eyes bugged out of her head, "What is THIS?"

She held up a pair of leather guys boots, and threw them at me. I caught them without even thinking about it. I glanced at them, and got confused. "What about these?"

She glared at me, "well, if you would ever pay attention to MY problems, you would realize that those boots are MINE." She crossed her arms.

I stared at her. "And...?"

Her eyes flamed. "AND, look on the toe of the left boot." She pointed at them.

I did. There was a blood stain across the boot...funny I didn't notice before. "Oh, okay...there's a blood stain?" I asked in confusion.

She sighed as if I was so very stupid, and grabbed the left boot. "First of all, I did not make this stain. So you must have. Which means, WHY IS THERE A STAIN ACROSS MY FAVORITE PAIR OF BOOTS?" She demanded.

I tried to keep from bursting out into laughter, because I knew that would send her over the edge. But I mean, seriously? She was whining and complaining over SHOES? Shoes, that I did not wreck in the first place.

"I didn't touch them. Maybe you should ask Alec." I said with a smile. Ahh, precious Alec. Maybe he could be blamed for something for once.

"He didn't. I already asked him. So don't try and pull that one, Vincent."

Of course he didn't. Alec never does anything...wrong.

"Well, I know I didn't. What's the big deal anyway? They're just shoes." I said.

I saw Tessa's face grow even more angry. Apparently, I've said the wrong thing.

Heehee.

"SHOES? JUST SHOES? Didn't you hear me when I said they were my favourite black leather combat boots? Do you not pay attention at all?" She shrieked at me.

Uh, I don't pay attention about shoes. But I wasn't about to say that. "Tessa, you're overreacting. The stain will come off. Jeez." I huffed. Despite my reassurance, she was still not convinced, and she was STILL furious. At least, not with me.

"It's not the blood stain ITSELF. The fact that SOMEONE stole my boots, and that someone is not living here. Your mother didn't, Alec didn't, and YOU didn't. So that leaves..." Her face lit up like a shot. She figured something out, and it freaked me out.
