Chapter 12

"It's not like that!" Jack exclaimed. We're in school for lunch and I didn't get enough sleep considering I got home around 3. Its been like 3 weeks I've been working there now. I sigh in frustration and put my head on the table. "It is like this!" I heard Vivien shot back. I groaned and repeatedly bang my head on the table.

I heard Carter laugh from beside me, "What's gotten you all moody?" he asked me amused.

I glare at him, "I got home late and I'm tired." I said monotone. All of them laugh at me and I scoff and bang my forehead on the table again, groaning.

The bell rang signalling the end of school, it's like heaven. Jack and Georgie laugh at me, "You really must be tired." he said laughing. I glare at him and punch his arm. After all of his workout and practice, he's managed with my punches. He hardly effected by it. "I hate how you didn't wince anymore." I whined.

Both of them laugh and we got in Jack's car with me in the back. And another thing, I would always ride with the twins to school so I could catch up in sleep for few minutes. I had it bad.

"You know if you could quit the job right?" I heard Georgie say quietly after the few minutes of silent. I sigh, "I need money Georgina. I can't just ask dad for money. We're not even on speaking terms now."

"One of you should give in then." Jack blurt out.

"Wish it is that easy bro." I mutter.

"How come I never get to meet this Ryder guy?" Ariana said from the couch. She's staying over for a month since mum is travelling all the way to Italy and she couldn't bring Ariana with her, So she decide to let her stay here with me.

"Cause I didn't let you to." I shrug.

She rolled her eyes, "Oh hey dad, Diana." she greeted cheerfully as dad and Diana walk in the living room with Daniel and Ivory.

"Dan, why did you mess my room up?" I heard Jack ask as he walk down the stairs. Daniel look at Jack and shrug, "I don't know, I just do stuff okay. Get off my back." he said and rolled his eyes.

I quirk my eyebrows amuse at Daniel, for a little kid he sure did act much more mature. Jack grumbled something along like 'Smartass' and 'Stupid brother'.

I look back at my phone when it buzzed receiving a new message from Ryder, yes I've been talking to him for an hour now.

Him: Work is boring when you're not around.

Me: Don't flirt with me Ry. I'm not in the mood for your games.

"Adriana did you hear me?" I heard Dad snapped at me. I lazily look up at him, "What" I said.

"Why is your school grade getting worse?" he asked infuriated. I rolled my eyes, "Cause I didn't study." I said in a 'duh' tone.

He point his finger towards me, "What's wrong with you? I've been put up enough of your attitude. I took care of you here and is that how you appreciate me?" He yelled.

Okay that definitely touch my nerve. I stood up, "Oh you took care of me? As far as I know mum is the one who took care of me. I'm working to earn money. I didn't even ask for a single penny from you! I'm 18, I can walk out of this house anytime father!" I snapped.

"I'm your father and you show me some respect!" he demand.

I snort and laugh humorously, "Whatever dad. I'm tired of arguing with you." I said nonchalantly and went upstairs to my room. I close the door behind me and make my way over to my bed. Tears start rolling down my cheeks and press my hand to my mouth so I don't sob or make noise. I hug my knees closer to me and rest my head on my knees.

The next day, I had a cold but being the me, I didn't bother staying home. I take a long nice hot shower. After the shower, I changed into my tank top and Hollister hoodie and my ripe blue jeans. I put on my black high top converse, brush my messy hair and tie it on in a messy ponytail. I grab my backpack and phone and left my room.

I walk in the kitchen and see everyone sitting there eating their breakfast. I reluctantly take my seats beside Georgie. I accept the plate of toaster Jack offer and eat it. "You don't look too well Adri." I heard Diana said. I sneeze, "Really? I had no idea." I replied sarcastically.

Diana look at me with a hint of amusement in her eyes, "Why don't you just stay home?" she suggested. Dad cough and look at Diana, "She already had a bad grade. She need a lot of credit and boost her grade up if she want to graduate." he said.

I rolled my eyes, "Of course you only care about grades and not my health." I mutter. Georgie snicker quietly beside me. I grinned at her and look at Diana, "Nah. That's okay. I'll just go school." I said and got up from the chair.

"Take care sweetie!" I heard Diana called out.

"So you have to subtract this equation and then add up with this stupid algebra equation to find the value?" I asked confused. Georgie groaned and rub her temple, "Yes Adri yes. You need to subtract to find the value of Y and then add up this number to find the value of X." she said.

I nod my head and silently work on the question.

"So why do you hate dad so much?" I heard Georgie ask me quietly. I drop my pen, startle with her question. I sit up and stare at her. "Why do you want to know?" I snapped.

She flinched, "Sorry. I'm just wondering you know. Ariana seem okay with him."

I sigh and rubbed my face, "I used to be a daddy's girl." I admitted quietly. She look at me wide eyes. I chuckle, "Didn't see that coming huh?" I joked. We laugh and she nod her head.

I ran my hand through my hair, "My parents would always come home shouting at each other. Ariana and I were so scared then." I said. "But one day, the argument got worse. They would throw vase here and there. And then that day when I walk down, dad is ready to leave." I said softly, my voice cracked a little. The memories come flashing back before me. "I beg him not to leave. But he didn't once look back. He just walk away. Leaving me behind." I whispered.

It was quiet then. None of us say anything. I cleared my throat and look at her, "You better not tell anyone bout this." I said sternly. She put her hands up, "My lips are seal." then she do the zip at her lips. We chuckle quietly.

"So is that the reason why you became like this? You know the rebel stuff?" she asked me curiously. I laugh and nod, "Its stupid really. But I can't help it." I shrug.
