Star skipped into the bedroom and Peter straining with her suitcase behind her.
"And here's your new... room." Peter said through a strained pant as he set the suitcase down. "Anything else I can get for you your Majesty?" he sarcastically asked. Star, however, payed no mind to him.
"Okay... I can work with this." she said looking around the small guestroom. She pulled out her wand and it began to glow. "Sparkle Glitter Bomb Expand!" Star yelled as she uses her magic to turn the room into a large castle loft just inches away from a neighboring house. Peter looks in amazement.
"Whoa... How on Earth?" Peter started as Star begins to bounce on her bed. "Ahhh, that's better!" she says as she continues to bounce. "Well, that's great. I'm going to head to my room to start on homework." Peter said as he starts for the door. "Hope you enjoy your powers. Normal people don't have them."
"What about the spider guy?" Star asked, questionably tilting her head as she stopped bouncing. Those words caused the undercover hero to stop at the doorway. "I saw him on the box thingy earlier, saving all those people. Looks like he has powers to me." she continued. "You think me and him can be, like, partners?"
With his back still to Star, Pete replied. "I don't know Star. He's kind of a loner. Let me know if you need anything. I'm on the other side of the hall." he said as he made his exit.
"Okay! I will Peter!"
Half an hour later, Star still found herself thinking about that spider person. He was so awesome! Of course Mewni had its knights and heroes, but she had never seen one like him before. A lot of those heroes stayed around for praise of their deeds; the Spider did all he could do to help and just disappeared without waiting for recognition.
Not to mention she still had much of the city to see. And despite his wariness about her background, Peter proved to be a great guide with a sense of humor. So Star got up and bolted to Peter's room in hopes he says yes to showing her more of his town tonight. She expected to see him at a desk or something when she got there. However, Peter Parker was no where to be found and his window wide open.
"That's weird. Peter said he'd be in here." Star mused. She approaches the window to close it when she notices movement from the alley below. So she did what she thought was appropriate at the time, and dashes into Peter's closet with the door slightly opened. In almost no time, a figure slipped into the room through the window. Obviously humanoid, they had on a red and blue garbed outfit (or maybe skin?) with a web design on the red parts as well as a spider insignia on its chest. Their face was red, also with a web design, and its eyes were a blank white. However, Star was in for a shock when she saw the person pull at their face, taking the mask off. It was none other than her new friend and roommate, Peter Parker.
Star couldn't resist the urge to gasp, and Peter noticed it too and his head whipped up and around wildly to find the source. "Who's there?" he softly yet sternly asked. The closet swung open to reveal Star's awed expression and the two stared at each other for a long moment.
"Ohmygosh. You're the spider guy!" Star practically squealed. "Shhh. Before May hears you." Peter said motioning the silent finger with one hand and using his webbing to close his door with the other. "That's soooo cool," Star says with her eyes and heart cheeks lighting up as she poked at the web line, "Do you make these with magic or something?"
The teen hero let out a somber sigh as he plopped on the side of his bed. He motioned for his new roommate to join him, and she did.
"No... they're not magic Star." He pulls up his left sleeve to reveal a wrist shooter. "I had to engineer these shooters myself when I started this gig. The webbing is a compound of chemicals I also had to make myself."
"Mhm. So um Pete. Do you need a partner?" she asked with a smile. "Yeah about that. I don't think that's a good idea." he said. The smile Star bore faltered a little. "Why not?" she asked.
Peter didn't respond immediately, instead dropping his gaze to the floor. "Because the people I fight are dangerous. They have guns, super powers like us, or other weapons." He answered before pausing again. He looked up to meet Star's blue gaze.
"The reason I wear a mask and have a secret identity is to protect the ones I love. They can hurt my friends, Aunt May, or even..." he paused as put his hand on Star's shoulder "You."
Star glanced at his hand before looking back at Peter, then jumping up from her seat. "I'm a magical princess! I can totally narwhal blast them and stuff!"
Pete weakly chuckled at Star's enthusiasm. "I don't think they'll go down to stuff like that. Besides, you don't even have a costume."
Star's gaze turned serious even while keeping her smile. "Then we can help each other." she stated matter-of-factly. "Please?" she added as her eyes grew softer.
Peter felt his will weakening as he looked at the sight. "Ugh. Girls. Get's ya everytime Parker." "Alright. Fine. But you'll have to wear a costume like me. It doesn't take a genius to trace a magical princess back to Casa de Parker." he said. "Sweet!" Star said as she raised her arms victoriously.
"And," Peter said, gaining Star's attention once more. "There's someone we need to see." When Star replied with a nod, he smiled. "Good. But first dinner. I'm starving!" "Me too!" Star said before bolting out the door. She peeked her head back in a moment later. "Aren't you coming?" she asked. "I have to change." Pete answered with a shrug. "You're the only person who knows who I am." he added.
"Oh right. Sorry. See you in a few." she sheepishly said before slipping out again.
Unbeknownst by the two teenagers, a figure was watching from a tree in the yard. "Hehehe." he laughed. "I've found you Star Butterfly. I must report this to Master Ludo." He said before using a pair of scissors to cut open a wormhole to another dimension. He jumped inside and the portal closed.
