First period had gone by pretty quickly. Second period had already begun, and Star was sitting in the back of the room with Peter.

"So what even is home ed? Star asked through a whisper. Peter slumped back into his seat before replying. "It's like cooking and stuff. We also sew, and that's how I learned to make my... well our costumes. Not to mention fix up tears and stuff like that." he answered. Star's face brightened as she pretty much ignored a lot of what Peter said. "We get to cook? I LOVE cooking. And pretty good at it too." she boasted.

"Are you now Miss Butterfly?" the teacher asked with an unamused frown. She gestured towards a prep station in the front of the room. "How about a demonstration? Mister Parker can assist you for also interrupting class."

Star's grin widened while exasperation took place on Peter's face. "Of course." Star beamed. Peter rolled his eyes with a, "Great" as they both got up and walked to the front of the room.

Once there, Star pulled out her wand and tapped it against her chin. "Oh! I know exactly what to make!" she said excitedly. When Peter realized she was just going to magic something into existence, he held out his arm. "Uh, Star? I don't think that's a good idea-" Once again ignoring him, Star aimed her wand at the table. "Rainbow quiche SURPRISE!"

In a flash of purple smoke, a quiche had appeared on the table. Star grinned at her creation, while Peter skeptically looked at it. Everyone else in the room stared slack-jawed. "See Peter," Star said,"nothing wrong." Suddenly, a tentacle emerged from the quiche. Before anyone could react, the tentacle wrapped itself to Peter's ankle and started slamming him into the ceiling and ground. Star gasped and covered her mouth as the rest of the classroom screamed.

"Someone *thud* little *thud* help *thud* please? *thud*" Peter asked weakly. Star looked between her creation and Peter with nervousness apparent. "Uhhh," she said looking at Peter getting repeatedly slammed. "Back please?" she asked when she blasted the creature. It got engulfed in magic, but before it could retract into the treat, it hurled Peter across the room.

"WAAHHH!" screamed Peter before he crashed into a bookcase. Kids moved to help Peter up to his feet, but were more surprised than anything to not see him crying or pain or something. Peter picked up on it. "What? I'm used to Flash. Been through way worse." he fibbed.

After the chaos died down, Peter and Star had to explain that the latter was from another dimension with magic.  They all seemed to understand, seeing how their were plenty of super beings around the city anyways.

"Star." the teacher started, "I would like for you to refrain from using magic in the classroom for the... safety and well-being of your peers. And try to cook normally by our standards. Deal?"

Star laughed nervously and looked back to Peter. He caught her gaze and glanced back at her while rubbing the back of his neck. She looked back to their teacher. "Yeah. Okay."

After an eventful second period, third and fourth period went by pretty slowly. Finally, it was lunch time. And the food looked as unappetizing as always. Regardless, Peter got his food and found Star sitting at the edge of a table. He took the seat beside her.

"Hey Peter! So... you feeling ok?" Star asked while poking her grayish mashed potatoes. Peter ignored the goop and went straight for the chicken nuggets. "Pretty good all things considered." he said. He took a moment to eat a nugget before continuing. "Still surprised you haven't killed me yet."

Star pursed her lips and glanced away. "Sorry." she murmured. Then a thought had cross her mind. "Hey, can I ask you something?" She turned back to face him, and he raised a brow. "Yeah, shoot." When Star blinked at him confusedly, Peter followed up. "Earth slang for 'Go on ahead.'" he informed her. Star grinned. "Oh. Well this morning when you said you wouldn't use your powers on Flash irresponsibly, what did you mea-" she got out before a voice interrupted her.

"Hey Pete!" a male voice called. Both teens turned to be met with another pair of teens. One was a little taller than Peter, wearing a black sweater over an untucked white shirt and gray pants. He had auburn hair and blue eyes. The girl was Filipino with short dark-blue hair and brown eyes wearing a green t-shirt under a turquoise jacket, a yellow skirt, and a beanie hat to match her shirt.

"Oh, hey." Peter answered before looking back to the girl next to him. "Star, these are my friends. Harry and Janna." Star grinned and waved at them. "Hi friends!" "Sup." they both replied, setting their trays on the table.

"You're the new girl huh?" Harry asked Star. Star nodded. "Yup. Star Butterfly: Magical princess from another dimension!" Janna and Harry both snorted at the introduction. "Magical princess huh? Wow Pete, you sure know how to pick em." Janna teased. Peter frowned at the comment. "Says the girl who found herself in detention yesterday." Janna shrugged as she began to eat her food. "What can I say? It's hard to be the good guy."

"You can say that again." Peter murmured.

The four continued to eat and converse for a little while before a voice came booming from nearby. "Parker!" Peter winced at his name and sure enough, Flash was standing behind him. "What do you want Flash?" he innocently asked, knowing exactly why the bully was here. The football star scowled and he lifted Peter from his seat by the collar of his shirt. "Don't play dumb Parker." Flash hissed. "I'm here to make you pay double for your little girlfriend here." he said while using his free arm to point to Star.

"Harry stood up from his seat. "Lay off him Flash." he coolly declared. Flash sneered. "What are you gonna do about it rich boy?" Harry's glare deepened, but before he could say anything, the main door to the cafeteria was blown down and windows burst. Kids started panicking and fleeing through the other exits. Flash growled and looked at Peter in the eyes. "You lucked out puny Parker." and dropped Peter back in his seat.

Peter got up and reached for his backpack when a voice came echoing over the excitement. "STAR BUTTERFLY!" the somewhat screeching voice called. Star recognized the voice and groaned in annoyance. "You got to be kidding me. Ludo? How the heck did he find me?" she said surveying the area.

"Who the heck is Ludo?" Peter asked as he grabbed his bag. Star pulled out her wand which had begun to sparkle, showing it was powered up. "This monster who wants to steal my wand, become the ruler of my kingdom, blah blah blah." Pete nodded in response. "Egomaniac. Right. Can you hold off a bit?"

Monsters began to gather in the room, searching for the magic girl. Star glanced to them, and back to Peter. "Easy." Peter nodded and followed Harry and Janna to safety first. Once that was accomplished, he told them he was going back for Star and ducked to change out of sight of people and security cameras.
