Rise of the Sinister Six

It was a beautiful day in Manhattan. Peter and Star had walked to Central Park after school. They sat together on a bench, Star resting her head on his shoulder and Peter running his fingers through the princess's hair. 

"Thanks for the trip Pete. Feels refreshing to not do anything crazy for once." she said. 

"No prob. I just wish I had the money to take you out somewhere fun. Long Island is nice around this time of year." 

Star closed her eyes. "I get the fun hanging around you anyways." 

Peter looked down at her. "Oh is that the case?" he inquired. 

She opened her eyes back up and met his gaze. "Duh. Of course! Wouldn't give it up for the world."

They both moved in and kissed, Star's arms wrapped around him and Pete cupping her chin. They didn't have a care in the world before the boy's watch vibrated. He twitched and hesitantly broke the kiss to check it. 

"It's Nick." he stated before answering the call. "Red & Blue here. What's the 411 Captain Eyepatch?"

"Can the wisecracks Web Head. We have a situation down at the Raft. Some wise guy's gone and stirred up trouble."

"Got it. Be there in a flash. Over and out." Peter ended the call. He then sighed. "The glamorous life of a superhero." he deadpanned. 

Star chuckled. "You're complaining, why? Come on, let's go knock some heads!"

Off the coast of New York was Rikers Island, base of The Raft, a high security prison for the worst or most powerful supervillains or inmates. A breakout was in the works, and S.H.I.E.L.D was already there securing the area. 

Doctor Octopus paid it no mind as he had only one objective. He reached a cell with a Korean inmate with a scorpion tattoo on the side of his neck. "Mac Gargan. The Scorpion, I take it?"

Gargan looked up. "What's it to you?" he spat. 

"My resources tell me that you have an extensive history with Spider-Man." Octavius said. "Do you want revenge against the wallcrawler? I'm assembling a sort of task force to take him down. And you get a spot."

"Listen pal, I don't care about you or your little team." Scorpion plainly stated. "But if you can get me my exosuit and another chance at the bug, I'll play along."

"Excellent." Doctor Octopus used a tentacle to destroy the holding device, and the screen holding Scorpion disappeared. The latter walked out. 

"Now about my suit."

"In time, first we get the others."

Mac growled. "Fine."

It didn't take them long to find the next two candidates as their cells were side by side. One was an older man, the other was a Hispanic crook, but he had bandages wrapped over his hands. 

"Adrian Toomes. The Vulture. And Herman Schultz. The Shocker. How are you two gentlemen today?" Otto asked rhetorically. 

"What's going on out there?" Adrian demanded to know. 

Unlike the former, Herman actually answered the question. "Eh. It's alright."

"Let's get down to business, shall we? I'm forming an alliance to take down Spider-Man, and I'm offering you two spots, just like Mr. Gargan here."

Schultz raised a brow. "You want US to take down the Spider? Ordinarily I'd love to but..." He raised his arms to emphasize his condition. "Not sure how much use I'd be after last time."

Octavius nodded. "I am well aware of what Spider-Man had done to you, and rest assured, I can remedy it if you agree."

"Alright, if you say you can, I'm in."

Otto turned to the other man. "And what about you Mr. Toomes?"

Adrian glared. "Do you have to ask? I'll crush the bug myself."

"Then we have a deal." Octopus said before smashing the holding devices, and the two were freed. 

On the way down to get the last recruit, the four stopped to get Scorpion and Vulture their exosuits, and Shocker his gauntlets. They pushed through more guards to go deeper into the Raft. Eventually they found the latest edition to Spider-Man's rogue gallery, Electro. 

Max was suspended in the air by orbs that suppress his powers when he noticed the group[ approach. He glared specifically at the ringleader. "You..."

"Yes, yes. Nice to see you to Dillon." Otto said. 

"You did this to me." he growled. 

"What I did was give you power, a purpose in the pitiful life you had. You should be thanking me, really."

"He seems to think highly of himself." Herman whispered behind Octopus's back. Mac nodded in agreement. 

"And I'm giving you a chance for redemption. Join me and we can defeat Spider-Man." 

Electro looked even more intense. "Will I be free?" he inquired. 

"Yes. After he is gone, you will be free to do whatever you please." Octavius proposed. 

Max pondered the offer. "Yes. I will show them the darkness I have been put through..." 

"Good to have you on board." Otto looked to Vulture. "Adrian, if you don't mind."

Toomes released a sonic screech that destroyed the containment devices that held Electro. Max flew down to stand with them. 

"Now my allies. We move to Oscorp with my employer for now, but very soon will we be able to go after Spider-Man." 

Most nodded and the group slipped through S.H.I.E.L.D's perimeter and escaped the island prison.
