[Mason]I take a sip of my water as I scroll through my phone trying to occupy myself. All my friends had disappeared as soon as we got to this party and I was currently on the couch surrounded by drunk teens.
This party was supposed to get my mind off of the whole Aria thing. I so badly wanted to be okay with it, but just knowing that Ethan had his hands on her was almost enough to make me fly back just to beat the shit out of him again.
"Yo Edwards! Come on loosen up this is a party," Derek approaches me, a girl clinging to his arm.
"But-"
"No buts," he points at me. "Now here try this." He hands me a red solo cup after taking a sip of it. Considering he had already drank from it, it couldn't have been spiked. I take the drink, downing it and instantly flinching at the sour taste of the beer.
I head to the kitchen for some more water to get rid of the bitter taste. I grab a water bottle from the table of drinks chugging half of it down.
"Woah slow down there," a female voice speaks up. I turn to look in her direction only to realize it was Santana standing against the counter with a smirk on her face.
"Hey," I chuckle bringing her into a hug. "How have you been?"
"Well I've been going to school so I'd say busy," she nods. "How are you liking New York?"
"It's great!" I smile. "I miss home though."
"How are you and your girlfriend?"
"We're good," I play it off. "I miss her a lot."
"Well you're at a party Mason, you gotta have some fun," she extends her hand.
"Parties aren't really my thing," I shake my head declining her offer. "Plus I think I should get going."
"Oh, come on Mase. It's Friday and you're at a party. Loosen up and have some fun!" I tense at Mase, the nickname suddenly reminding me of Ar but Santana doesn't seem to notice as she just smiles and hands me a drink.
I stare at the cup with doubt for a few seconds before taking it. She was right. It's Friday and here I am at a party sulking about Aria. I should be having fun, need to be having fun.
"Fine, you win." I say to her with a smirk as I throw my head back and start gulping down the liquor.
"Whoo! That's the spirit!" She pumps her fists in the air and goes to make me another drink. This time, I don't hesitate to take it.
[Aria]
I stare up at the ceiling disappointed with how my night was going. I was laying down on my bed doing nothing while my best friend was with Ethan and my boyfriend was thousands of miles away.
I couldn't seem to get the idea of Kris and Ethan together out of my head. It was so unexpected and all of a sudden that it seemed sketchy. I had to know Ethan's motives because the last thing I wanted was for Kris to get hurt.
[Ethan]
I wasn't sure how long I could keep this up for. It had only been a week and I was already considering dumping the entire plan. Aria was showing no signs of being jealous. I guess she shouldn't be if she's dating Mason but still.
I was currently getting ready to go to another party with Kris. It was a shame that most people my age only found joy in drinking and smoking instead of other things. Parties did nothing for me except give me a place to sleep with girls, but even that was no longer an option.
