[Aria]It was one of those moments when you have absolutely no idea how to react. I didn't know what to say or how to feel. I guess there was only one way I could react, which involved rejection and hostility.
"Oh." Was the only word that escaped my lips in this blank state that I was in. All I wanted to do right now was leave this situation. As easy as it may seem to look past this newly found information, I couldn't. Ethan had made me feel something and it took me until now to accept it.
But this couldn't happen. This wasn't going to happen. I was engaged and it was wrong of me to even be here at this moment.
"I have to go." I say suddenly and rush out of the kitchen and into the party that was still going on. I need to find Madison.
Instead of searching the whole house I decided to step outside and call her first. She picks up on the fourth ring and I sigh in relief.
"Ar?" She questions.
"Mads we need to go," I say. "I'll explain everything to you later." There's a pause and the background noise gets noticeably quieter. I watch as she steps out of the house and jogs towards me and her car.
"Let's go." She says.
Without another word we get into her car and commence the drive to my house. I get home, opening the door only to find a panic stricken Mason on my couch with his head rested on his hands.
"Aria," he stands when he hears the door shoot open. "Where have you been? I've been calling an-"
"Get out," I cut him off.
"Don't do this," he pleaded. "Look I'm sorry, I messed up-"
"I know you did," I reply. "Before you leave, I actually have a question I want you to answer." He nods his head in agreement.
"Why were you at a bar?" I ask wanting to put an end to this mystery.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Bullshit Mason. Just give me the honest answer, and we'll be done here."
"It's not that simple," he sighs. I turn to Madison promising to call her tomorrow and explain everything before sending her home.
I take a seat on the couch opposite from Mason, preparing myself for the worst.
"Let's hear it," I gesture for him to tell.
"Aria, I can't," he breathes heavily.
[Mason]
"Then stop wasting my time and take your stuff and leave." She spits out in frustration before getting up and rushing upstairs.
I felt like screaming. How was I supposed to tell the girl I love, the girl that I'm supposed to marry and spend the rest of my life with, that the reason I did what I did that night was because I was desperate for weed which I promised her I wouldn't put my hands on again?
I hear her room door slam and I run up the stairs to try and sort things out. Things were so good between us and I wasn't going to let them get bad again. Her door is locked when I try to open it and I bang on it lightly.
"Ar, open up." I sigh. I don't hear a response and my mood instantly shifts into one of panic and worry. "Aria!" I raise my voice before breaking the door in and entering the room.
I find her sitting on her bed with earbuds in while she hugs her knees to her chest. She always did this to blow off steam and I found it so adorable, but I was here to fix things and I wasn't leaving until she forgave me.
