[Aria]The incessant sound of my alarm going off fills the room and I roll over to my side as I snooze it, refusing to open my eyes since I knew opening them meant I would then be awake and actually have to get up. I pull the duvet over my head, praying that I fall back asleep but am rudely interrupted again, this time by three hard knocks against my door.
"Aria get up now unless you want me to go in there and-"
"I'm up!" I groan, pushing the cozy blanket off of me and forcing myself out of the comforts of my bed as I would rather not have my mother barge in here and get me up the hard way.
Not only was today the first day of the new school year, but it was also my first day as a senior.
It seems like it was just yesterday that I was a freshman, walking through the wide, crowded halls of my school with my best friends by my side.
Little did I know those friends would stick and one of them would even become my boyfriend.
After changing out of my pajamas and putting on something that looked like I actually tried on, I tie on my shoes and pack my bag.
Finally, I make my way downstairs in record time where my mother and father sat eating their breakfast.
"Mija are you sure you don't want to eat something before school?" My mother asks once she sees that I'm ready and I shake my head at her, telling her that I'd most likely be getting breakfast with Mason.
Almost as if on cue, my phone vibrates in my pocket and I pull it out to see the message Mase had sent saying he was outside.
I kiss my parents goodbye before grabbing my bag and heading out the door. I see Mason's car parked in the driveway where he was seated in the driver's seat, scrolling through his phone. I get into the passengers seat and his gaze leaves his phone and is now focused on me. He greets me with a kiss and begins to pull out of the driveway.
The drive to school is short regardless of the fact that we still stopped for Starbucks. Mason's arm wraps around me as we both step into the school and are instantly surrounded by havoc.
The freshmen are easy to point out considering a lot of them are shorter than the upperclassmen. There aren't a lot of seniors in sight considering that school didn't start for another twenty minutes.
We go our separate ways to find our lockers and eventually meet up at our first period class.
We step into Calculus, greeting Matthew, Mason's best friend, and his girlfriend, Madison, one of my closest friends.
"How were your summers? I missed you guys," he says, wrapping an arm around Madison.
"You were at my house like every day," Mason replies. "How could you possibly miss me?"
"I wasn't at your house yesterday," Matt defends himself. "Therefore I missed you."
Mason shakes his head at his best friend and we all begin discussing this weekend.
"So are you guys going to Johnson's party Saturday?" Matt asks.
"It's the first week of school, how is Johnson already partying?" Mason laughs in awe at his teammate. The football players were known for partying constantly- well all except Mason, Matthew, and Alex.
