[Aria]This morning could not possibly get any worse. For starters, I overslept which meant I only had about 10 minutes to get ready unless I wanted to be late to first period. I got caught in traffic on the way here and I ended up being late regardless. I had an exam in Calculus which I totally did not study for and probably failed. And aside from all that, I started my period today which meant my patience was thinner than a sheet of paper.
I slumped into my seat in second period already sick of the day.
"Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the rails this morning," Ethan smirked. I rolled my eyes at his remark not in the mood for his humor.
"I'm not in the mood for your comments Ethan," I glared at him. He rose his hands up in defense turning back to his note taking.

Damn if looks could kill, I'd be on the floor begging for life. Aria looked strange walking into class. Her hair was slightly tangled and messy. Her face was bare- still gorgeous- but bare. She looked frustrated and tired. Only my smartass would call her out on it though.
Fortunately she loosened up by the end of the period and I reminded her that I'd be going over after school. It didn't really seem to bother her as much anymore that I was her partner, or maybe it was just me.
I slammed my locker instantly having my back pushed against it by Rachel.
Before I could speak, her lips were on mine in a kiss which was just like everything else we do together, bland and forced.
Rachel and I were never a thing. We were strictly physical with no emotional attachments. That's how it had been for a year now. I never felt anything for her and she didn't for me.
I noticed that lately I had been calling her more often. Not because I missed her, but because I needed to get my mind off of someone. I continued to kiss back trying to feel something that could distract me from the girl I was so stupidly falling for.
A few minutes later she pulled away wiping the corners of her lips and telling me to text her later. I smirked at her nodding until my eyes met Aria's who stood across the hall surrounded by some girls and football players.
She blinked repeatedly before looking down and returning to her conversation, paying no mind to what she had just seen. A small part of me wished she at least felt a tinge of jealousy, but who was I kidding? She was in a relationship and she hated my guts.

I quickly looked away at the sight in front of me. Not that I cared about Ethan, but it was just inappropriate to make out with someone front and center. To make matters worse, it was Rachel Lockwood, captain of the cheerleading team, and the girl who tried sleeping with my boyfriend. She had a crush on Mason junior year and tried hooking up with him while he was drunk. Luckily, Matt took him home before anything could happen.
I rolled my eyes at Ethan while he stared at her ass as she strutted away. I swear guys are such pigs. Well except Mason and our friends.
I said goodbye to Matt, Alex, Kris, and Maddy before making my way to P.E.
______________
"So I have to tell you something but you have to promise to not get mad," I spoke through the phone.
"Okay, I promise," Mason replied.
"I got partnered with Ethan for a biology project," I gnawed on my lip awaiting his response. The call went quiet, and I knew he was trying not to be bothered by the fact.
