“Are you kidding?” Wilmer couldn’t help but started laughing out of Demi’s question. Sometimes he thought she was really crazy but in a good way, of course.
“Stop laughing and ask my mom if she would allow me to come over.” Demi groaned into the phone. After escaping from her own birthday party, Demi was grounded for two months. Somehow she managed to stay in the house for one month but she couldn’t do it anymore. She needed to get out or at least see her best friend, Wilmer.
“Your mom hates me right now.” Wilmer stated. “If you want to meet me, I can come over. Maybe then your mom wouldn’t mind. But I doubt.” He shook his head. The memories of Demi’s mom shouting on them came back to his head. It was an experience that he didn’t want to repeat. But well, they deserved it.
“Okay, I just can’t be alone anymore.” Demi breathed out, “But don’t call my mom, just come over, okay? It is the better chance that she will accept.” She asked because she was sure her mom didn’t want Wilmer near her.
“Whatever you say, Demi, whatever you say.” He agreed and hung up. Demi immediately jumped out of the bed and looked around her room. Everything was a mess. She looked like a mess too. Quickly, rushing to the bathroom, she washed her face and put some mascara on, then came back to the room and started cleaning it. Mentally she promised herself that she won’t let her room become a mess like that.

“Demi” She heard Dianna’s voice. She immediately rushed out of the room to the corridor with a smile on her face. There was standing Wilmer with Dianna and they were discussed something. Their both faces were serious. She took a deep breath and walked down the stairs. Standing in front of them, she looked at Wilmer.
“Hi Wilmer.” She said innocently. “Mom,” She added looking at Dianna.
“So you invited Wilmer,” Dianna stated, turning her gaze to Demi. She just shrugged and looked at Wilmer again, who was standing there uncomfortable. “You’re grounded, and if I remember correctly he was the one who helped you with escaping.” Dianna started, but Demi couldn’t wait anymore.
“Just let him watch some movies with me,” She walked closer to her mom and hugged her, “I love you so much, mom,” Then she pulled away and grabbed Wilmer’s hand, “Come on, are you going to stand here all day? Let’s go to my room.”
Wilmer looked at Dianna, who just rolled her eyes but walked back to the kitchen. Demi started dragging him up the stairs, already talking about how bored she was.
“You know, the seller from the shop… We are kind of together.” Wilmer interjected into Demi’s talking. Demi closed the door behind herself and grinned at him.
“Oh, really? You are bed buddies or something more?” She asked, sitting on the bed and looking at Wilmer. He walked to the bed too and sat down, smiling to Demi. He hadn’t realized how much he had missed her until he saw her smiling face again.
“You know I don’t want more. I’m happy with bed buddies.” He stated, crossing his hands over her chest. “But how are you? The entire month locked up in house sounds like a nightmare.” He asked as Demi rolled her eyes.
“I was out a few times.” She whispered, grinning, “Nothing gonna stop me, baby. Plus I had some concerts, so it wasn’t that bad, I just missed spending time with you.” She admitted, “In fact, I thought she will never ever again let me see you.” She added and laid down on the bed.
Wilmer turned on the TV as Demi cuddled to his side. They chose to watch a romantic movie, although he hated these kind of films. He wasn’t a fan of romantic. He didn’t believe in love. But Demi was helpless when it comes to love, so Wilmer agreed to watch it.
After a few hours, Wilmer looked down to his chest and found Demi sleeping there. He smiled down to her, she looked so beautiful in her sleep. But suddenly his eyes caught a red mark on her hand, which was rested on his chest. It wasn’t what he thought, was it? He slowly took her hand, not wanting to wake her up, and looked at her wrist. There were more red marks. It wasn’t the first time he saw it, but it was shock to him, he thought she stopped. He pressed his lips on her marked wrist and her eyes opened widely.
“W-What are you doing?” She asked in shivering voice. She immediately sat up, pulling her hand away from him. Her biggest fear was becoming true. If he found out, he would leave her. And she didn’t want to lose him.
“You don’t have to hide from me.” Wilmer sat up and looked at her, “Demi, I understand about everything.” He tried to act calm and not to fight with her. He didn’t want to hurt her.
“What? What do you understand? I don’t know what you are talking about.” She shook her head acting innocently. It was the only way to get away.
“Do you think it’s the first time I see this?” He asked, raising an eyebrow. “Do you think I don’t understand why you do to the bathroom after every meal? I know everything, Demi. And I don’t judge you.” He wanted to hug her but she moved away.
“So everything was out of pity?” Demi asked, shaking her head. He was a liar. He lied about everything. How could she believe him? Anger started accumulating in her, and it was difficult to restrain reflex to hit him. She really wanted to do that.
“No, of course not.” He said in a raised voice. “I AM your friend. I don’t care what you’re doing, it’s not changing my opinion about you.” He moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her but she pushed him away, slapping him on the cheek.
“Get the fuck out of here. I don’t want to see you” Demi shouted on him, “You’re an asshole, like everyone. I hate you. I don’t want to see you ever again. Leave. Me. Alone.” She shouted again, walking away from him.
“You don’t mean it, Demetria.”
“So now you call me by my name? Who are you to me? A father? A boyfriend? No one. You’re a stranger, a fucking liar. I hate you. Go to hell.” She said with tears in her eyes, “I believed you, I thought… Whatever, just leave me alone.”
“You know what? When I will walk out of this room, I will never come back.” He warned but Demi just rolled her eyes. He had compassion on her, and she really didn’t need pity. She didn’t need a person like him in her life.
“I don’t need a liar in my life.” She hissed, “LEAVE ME ALONE.”
“Get your fucking shit together, Demetria.” With these words he walked out of her room and her life, shutting the door behind himself, leaving her alone.
