“Your mom is always like that?” Wilmer asked when they were in the middle of the road. Demi had looked out of the window for the whole time but Wilmer’s voice made her turn to him. She sighed and looked out of the window again.
“Yes.” She sighed again. “I mean, she hates when I am not coming home for the whole night. She always says about cops because she has a friend in there. But she never calls them. It’s like some kind of joke.” Demi turned to Wilmer and gave him a smile, although his eyes were concentrating of the road.
“Not bad joke.” Wilmer laughed. “But anyways, I hope you won’t be in trouble because of me. I mean I had to take you home yesterday but I chose to bring you to my place. Well, if you want, I can apologize to your parents.” He suggested.
“No, you don’t have to do it. I can handle it by myself but thanks for the offer.” She gave him another smile and turned back to the window. With him, she felt free. Everything, what was chasing her, disappeared, when Wilmer was with her. She was able to forget.
Wilmer stopped the car in front of Demi’s house: he knew where she lived because he ‘googled’ about her. He wanted to know more. Demi took a deep breath and turned to Wilmer. They both smiled to each other and gave a hug.
“So, I will go now.” She stated as they pulled away. “I hope we will meet soon.”
“I hope too.” Wilmer smiled. Demi looked into his eyes one last time and got out of the car.
Demi turned around and looked how Wilmer’s car disappeared from her eyes. She sighed and walked into the house. She prepared herself for a long time of interpretation how she has to live. Demi opened the door and her mom immediately greeted her with dissatisfaction.
“Finally you’re back.” Dianna said but Demi simply rolled her eyes. She was so fed up with all this things. No one was able to change her but they kept trying and trying. It made Demi anger and anger because it was her life. She could do whatever she wanted with it. “Don’t roll your eyes, Demetria. We need to talk.” Dianna grabbed Demi’s hand and dragged her to the living room.
Demi’s eyes widened as she saw Joe sitting there. She looked at him confused while he was smiling kindly, like he was an angel, while she was a devil. In fact, it was true. Demi always was devil to him. He always was unhappy with her behavior, her choices, her life.
“Demi, baby, how are you?” Joe stood up and walked to Demi. He wanted to hug her but Demi stepped back, shaking her head in disbelief. Yes, she loved him, but he had cheated on her, she saw it. Yesterday he was kissing another girl and today he wanted her back. She had never understood him.
“Go away.” Demi turned around but Joe grabbed her hand, making her turn back at him. Demi gave him a look but it didn’t stop him from kissing her. Their lips touched but Demi pulled away and slapped him. Hard.
Ignoring her mom’s shouts, Demi walked out of the living room and headed up the stairs to her room. She felt so angry. The imagine of Joe kissing other girl came back into her head and she felt tears in her eyes. Yes, she knew he had no feelings for her, but she still had hope. She was so in love with him, she was ready to do everything just to have him. But he had never tried to love her. And finally, she lost hope.
Demi entered the room and shut the door behind herself. Tears were running down her cheeks but she didn’t bother to wipe them. She was safe in her room, no one could see how weak she really was. One part of her wanted Wilmer to be there. Although they had known each other not for a long time but she trusted him. At least a little bit.
The knock made Demi came back to reality. She wiped the tears away from her cheeks and took a few deep breaths.
“Go away.” She shouted but the door opened and Joe came in. He immediately walked closer to her and, although Demi opposed, he hugged her tightly. Demi found her strength and pushed him away, she eyes wide. “How dare you?” She shouted and her palm met his cheek again.
“Stop slapping me” He grabbed her wrist tightly. “You love me, Demi, you know it.” He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. “And I love you too. You’re overreacting, baby. You know I can’t live without you.” He whispered into her ear as Demi rolled her eyes again. Liar. He was a fucking liar.
“Leave me alone.” Demi whispered as he finally let go of her wrist. “I will call you tomorrow, I promise.” She said and turned around. “I’m tired.”
“Okay, I’m leaving you, baby. Have a good day. See you tomorrow.” He kissed her lips and walked out of the room. Demi closed the door and started crying again. How could he be so stupid? He thought he can rule her. He thought she was stupid enough to believe that he’s in love with her.
Demi sat on the bed and pulled a blanket over her tiny body. She was so tired from everything: the only person who could help her was Wilmer. At least he could talk stupid things and made her smile. But she couldn’t call him every single time she felt bad. She had to deal with her problems alone.
Demi rested her head on the pillow and closed her eyes. Her life was falling apart, her relationship was the most fucked-up thing in this world, her demons were keeping her in the dark and she couldn’t run away from them. She was so tired from the sadness inside her chest. She was tired from life.

Demi opened her eyes when her phone buzzed. She sighed as she picked up the phone. There was Marissa’s ID. Demi’s face brightened – it meant they will have a party today. She opened the message and there were an address of the party.
Although a few hours ago Demi felt like dying, but right now she was so ready to go to the party. She jumped out of the bed and rushed to the bathroom.
