Wilmer stared down at her lips as Demi’s breathing almost stopped. She wanted to press her lips to his, but suddenly he pulled away, running his hands through his hair. He felt so confused and at the same time the feeling was unfamiliar. He had to admit that he really wanted to kiss Demi, but he didn’t want to ruin their friendship. What had happening to him?

She sighed and looked down at her fingers. She felt confused too. Everything what had happened in recent months, made her feel strange. And that their friendship… Of course, their friendship was a really good thing, and she really liked him. But she liked him just like a friend and the worst part was she didn’t want to feel something more, but she couldn’t choose who to love.

They had almost kissed, but she didn’t think that it was serious. She didn’t have a boyfriend for a half a year, and maybe it was the reason why she somehow wanted to kiss him. Or maybe it was these feelings, which made her so afraid.

“I-“ Wilmer started apologizing  but Demi shook her head, smiling.

“No, don’t say anything. It’s okay.” She said, still smiling, “After all, it wouldn’t be our first kiss.” She added and moved closer to him, resting her head on his chest. Doubting, he wrapped his hand around her shoulder, and kissed on top of her head.  They both wanted to forget it.

From that day, when they almost kissed for the second time, nothing had changed. They stayed friends who enjoyed their lives together just like before. In fact, they acted like nothing had happened, although deep down they both felt something strange, but they had chosen to ignore it.

Demi and Wilmer were walking in the store, looking for all kind of things. They both decided to spend the day in the store, because Demi wanted new clothes and she always got what she wanted. After a few hours of shopping, they were leaving the store.

“You know, I had a really good day, thanks to you.” Demi said as they felt the store and walked through the street. Wilmer just groaned because he was caring all her bags. “Let’s leave these bags in my house, and we can go to your place, what do you think?” She suggested as they reached his car.

“Sounds good.” He agreed and sat into driver’s seat.

They drove to Demi’s place, left the bags there and headed to Wilmer’s house. As soon as the car stopped in front of Wilmer’s house, Demi jumped out of the car and rushed to the house. She climbed up the stairs and walked straight to the bedroom. In the room, she opened the closed and grinned to herself. She felt like home there, even most of his closet was full of her clothes.  They were just that close.

She decided to wear Wilmer’s clothes. Grabbing a sweat pants and sweater, she walked to the bathroom. After changing the clothes, she walked to the kitchen, where she thought Wilmer was. In fact, she was hungry, so she hoped Wilmer was there, making something delicious to eat.

When she walked into the kitchen, Wilmer was standing in front of opened fridge. She walked closer to him and rolled her eyes. The fridge was empty.  It was clear that Wilmer didn’t spend much time there.

“Wilmer, are you eating?” Demi asked, walking to the chair and sitting there. Wilmer closed the fridge, and leaned against the cupboard, crossing his arms over his chest.

“I spend very little time here. And honestly, I don’t care if I’m eating or not. I care about your eating.” He gave her a fake grin, making Demi roll her eyes. She was tired of all that care. In fact, it made her sick. Everyone jumping around her, making sure she was okay, asking her the same question for the ten times. But one part of her loved, that Wilmer cared for her that much, so she decided not to oppose.

“Well, if you’re so interested in my eating, I can tell you that I’m hungry right now, but your fridge is empty. What thread for me to eat?” She asked sarcastically, crossing her arms over her chest, mirroring Wilmer.

“We can go to the groceries and buy something, so I could make a dinner. Of course, you could make it too, but I don’t want to burn my house, so today I’m cooking.” He walked closer and grabbed her hand, “Come on, Demi, let’s go for another shopping.” He joked, making Demi giggle. She shook her head, but stood up and walked with him.

The groceries weren’t far away from Wilmer’s house, so they decided to walk. Walking, they talked about silly things as always, but suddenly, Demi grabbed Wilmer’s hand, making him stop. For a moment, he felt how she shivered.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Wilmer asked, confused. He put his hands on her shoulders and turned her, so he could see her face. Her eyes were full of tears and she was deep breathing. He didn’t understand anything, but then he looked around and saw Joe. Joe was holding other’s girl hand, and they were obviously flirting. “Oh, baby.” Wilmer whispered, looking down at Demi again. Her expression broke his heart.

“Kiss me” She whispered and looked up, so she could see his face. Their eyes met but Wilmer didn’t do anything.

“What?” He managed to say.

“Kiss me. Make him jealous.” She whispered again but Wilmer didn’t move. Sighing, she wrapped her hands around his neck and tiptoed to kiss him. Closing her eyes, she pressed her lips to his but he didn’t kiss her back.

Wilmer’s eyes were opened wide as Demi kissed him. That entire kissing thing made him really worried about their friendship, and right then, she was trying to push her tongue into his mouth, which was even worse than a small kiss. He wondered where it will take but one look into Demi’s teary eyes and he gave in. He quickly wrapped his hand around her waist, pulling her closer and closing his eyes, kissing her, like she wanted to be kissed.

Demi stepped back from him, catching air. She looked around but Joe was nowhere to be seen. She looked back to Wilmer, who was staring at her, catching air too. That moment, she regretted asking for a kiss. That kiss brought feelings, which she never wanted to feel again. She quickly looked down to her hands, as her cheeks started to burn from blushing.

“Thank you.” She whispered, and rushed towards the groceries, not waiting for Wilmer. She didn’t want to face him right now because something deep down kept telling her that he felt that spark too.
