“Demi, wait” Dianna shouted but Demi didn’t stop. She didn’t turn back before rushing out of the yard to the empty street. It was a midnight already but Demi didn’t care. She just wanted to run away from her life at least for a few moments.

All the streets were wet from the rain that rained for several days. For a moment, she felt like she was in London.  And in that moment, she really wanted to be there. Far away from all the problems, away from everything what chased her.

She knew a place where she could hide from the world and forget about everything but she wasn’t sure, if she wanted to go there. From their second first meeting, she hadn’t talked with him. She was so afraid of being close to him again so she had chosen to ignore him. It seemed the best.

But now, when her shoulders were sore troubles, she wanted to be with him. He was the only one who was able to calm her down. He was as if her own drug dose, but this didn’t pose a threat to her health. On the other hand, he posed a threat to her heart.

She didn’t even feel how she walked to his door. She pressed the doorbell and waited until Wilmer will open the door. She smiled widely when the door was opened but her smile disappeared as soon as she saw a blonde with Wilmer’s t-shirt.

“Hi.” The blonde smiled and opened the door widely so Demi could walk in but she didn’t move. She was paralyzed by the woman. She was so beautiful and there was no doubt why Wilmer was with her. She was perfect. How could Demi believe that he would look at her when there were many more beautiful girls who would die to be with him? “You should be Demi, come in.” The girl invited but Demi shook her head.

“No, I… I will talk to Wilmer later.” Demi said and turned around. The tears started running down her cheeks as soon as she walked back to the street. She had no place in his life anymore.  She did a huge mistake running away, she lost him forever.

At that moment, she realized that her life had become dark again. Wilmer was the light that led her forward and she lost that light. In fact, her life was very similar to that night: it was dark and rainy. If the rain will not stop, she will never see the Sun again. And she was afraid of that dark.

Somehow she found herself at the beach, in the same beach where she celebrated her 18 birthday with Wilmer. The tears rolled down her cheeks faster when she remembered how happy she was then. She would have laughed if someone would have told her that she will fall in love with him and suffer for that.

Sitting down on the sand, she allowed herself to sob. There was no one around, she could sob as loud as she wanted. She hugged her knees and started rocking herself back and forth, sobbing louder and louder. Her life was falling apart and she wasn’t strong enough to stop it.

“She was crying?” Wilmer asked as he started dressing. Amelia nodded her head and sat down on the bed. “Baby, you know I love you and only you, but she’s my best friend, I can’t leave her alone. She needs me and I’m going to be there for her no matter if you like it or not.” He said and leaned over to kiss her.

“I understand, don’t worry.” Amelia smiled as Wilmer pulled away. “Hope everything goes well. Call me.” She said and Wilmer nodded before leaving the room. He rushed out of the house and looked around. Where could she go? There were millions of places where she could hide but Wilmer didn’t want to lose hope.

After a few hours of searching, he gave up. Sitting in his car, he rested his head on the sterling wheel and sighed. He searched all the clubs where she used to go, he even called her family but they had no idea where she was. They were searching for her too but it didn’t help. She was lost.

Suddenly Wilmer got a thought where she could be. He immediately drove to the beach. Demi had said that the waves calm her down. Yes, of course, she was there. Why could he not think about it earlier? He drove there as fast as he could.

As soon as the car stopped, he jumped out of rushed to the beach. He looked around and suddenly he saw a figure there.

“Oh my God, Demetria.” Wilmer shouted and rushed to her. He immediately hugged her wet body. Demi didn’t even try to push him away, she was so tired of all this thing. All she wanted to do was be in Wilmer’s embrace forever. “Baby” He whispered, stroking her hair.

“No…” Demi whispered in her shaky voice, “Don’t call me baby…” She managed to say as more tears ran down her pink cheeks. She pushed him away and wiped the tears but soon they were replaced by new ones.

The rain was still raining on them, but they both ignored it. Wilmer sighed and sat beside her, putting his head in his hands. He felt so confused and so hurt at the same time. He never meant to hurt her, but all this thing was his fault.

“I’m sorry.”  Wilmer said, staring at the sea.

“Don’t be.” Demi managed to whisper. Her voice was still not strong enough from all that sobbing. “It’s all my fault. I am sorry.” She added, staring at the beach too. Something inside her kept telling her that she wasn’t in the dark alone. She dragged Wilmer with herself.

“So, it’s the end?” Wilmer asked but it was more like a statement. For the first time in his life, he was afraid of losing someone. Demi nodded her head, not looking at him. She felt new tears running down her cheeks but she didn’t bother to wipe them away.

“It is.” Demi sighed and looked at him for the first time that day. “You know, it’s funny how everything has changed… We were having so much fun here and right now we’re breaking up.” She said and laughed at herself, “Breaking up? We weren’t together.” She added and laughed again.

“Demi…” He turned to her and their eyes met, “I want you to be my friend more than anything but it’s impossible. I wish we could forget what we feel to each othe-“ He stopped in the mid word and closed his eyes tightly. He said ‘we’.

“You… You, too?” Demi asked with wide eyes. Wilmer didn’t say anything, he just stood up and started walking back and forth. Demi sighed and stared at the sea again. Yes, he felt the same but he was hiding it and dating other girl. How fucked up was it?

Suddenly Wilmer stopped walking and sat down in his previous position. He closed his eyes and sighed. He was going to admit it. He turned to Demi who stared at him with wide eyes and teary cheeks.

“Yes, I do.” He whispered and turned to the sea, “I fucking love you.”
