Ember stared at the many written notes on his desk. All fails on how he wanted to ask Luna to his prom.
Ask her if she is going to hers.
Just ask her.
Facetime, maybe?
He groaned at his thoughts, none of them helping him at all. They were all stupid ideas in his eyes.
Leaning back, he looked at the poster above the desk. It was of Penguin, Luna's favorite villain. She had claimed him as hers if they ever cosplayed villains.
He had chosen the Riddler, seeing as the Riddle and Penguin worked together.
"We can be the best villain duo!" She had told him, making him laugh at how excited she was for it.
"I'm telling you, Ember, we're going to do it when we're out of school."
Ember wished that he could go back to those days. He could listen to her for hours, and now, he can even listen to her for a minute, seeing as they're both always busy, and now she had another weight on her shoulders.
"... I can't tell you," she had warned him, as if he'd run away at the slightest hint of it, "but it's bad and I don't know what to do."
What if she would've told me? He thought, the curiosity getting to his brain.
Ember looked back at his desk, deciding the love notes was a no-go, and instead grabbed his phone, just instinctively texting her.
'Luna, I have something to ask you'
He waited a minute for her answer, but didn't get one. He decided that she was busy, but still sent another.
'Call me when you can.'
