(Chapter Three)

Ember had yet to actually wake up and listen to the baby beside him, who had been pulling at hos hair for the last ten minutes.

"Da," she whined, making kiss noises after another moment of silence. Ember laughed a little, guessing that Emerald had taught her it.

He finally opened his eyes and saw Elara smiling, her hands in his hair and her purple onesie almost off of her. How? He didn't know.

He sat up, putting it back on her before picking her up. He had forgotten her diaper bag in the car last night and had to go get it, and knew he couldn't leave her in the room, she'd create a mess somehow within the few minutes he was gone.

He grabbed his keys off of the stand by the door and unlocked the car before walking outside.

The sun hadn't fully risen yet, and Elara found the colors very interesting. She pointed towards them and yelled, "Da!"

Ember nodded, saying that he saw it as he opened the back door, grabbing the bag and walking back inside the house.

He locked his car door by the keys before locking the house door, and continuing on the trek back to his room. Elara giggled the whole way, until Dragon appeared on the bed, as if he didn't just sneak in.

"Dragon, down," Ember said, causing the dog to whimper and jump down. In exchange, Ember placed Elara down and stripped her of her onesie before changing her diaper.

He had to give her a bath soon anyways, but he was going to wait a little longer.

He looked at her as she hit her tummy, squealing when she felt her cold hands against herself. Ember laughed, shaking his head and started to grab the onesie again before looking at her.

"I bet you don't even wanted this on," he said, watching as she looked at it before back at him and outstretching her hands.

She made kissing noises again.

"Yes, she actually learned it!" Ember looked over his shoulder to see Emerald laughing at Elara's kisses. Ember smiled, re-fixing the mess of a bag Elara had.

She liked to find it and dig through it, which usually led to him having to fix it and hide it, again.

Ember placed her down on the floor as he walked to the closet and put the bag in. Emerald watched him with curiosity in her eyes. "Why'd you do that?" She asked, looking at Elara when the baby wrapped its arms around her leg.

"I guarantee you'll find out by the end of today," Ember said, bending down and picking up Elara again before walking past Emerald.

"I have to feed her then give her a bath," he turned his head to look at his sister once, "want to help?"

Emerald looked at the baby before her brother. She still thought that he was stupid for what he did, but she definitely wasn't complaining about having Elara around.

"Sure," she said, following him out of the room and to the kitchen.

Ember sat beside Emerald outside of the tub, although his pajama pants and her shorts were soaked through with water.
