"Hello?"
"Hey! Ember! This is your wake up call!" Luna laughed as she yelled into her phone, ignoring the warnings she got from the doctors about people trying to sleep.
"Luna," Ember whined, his voice filled with sleep, and he laughed a little afterwards. "Why'd you wake me up?"
Luna heard shuffling and believed that he was getting comfortable as she sat down, too.
"Because you said to call you," Luna said, eyebrows furrowing when she heard Ember take an intake of breath. "What's wrong?"
Ember started speaking, but ended up stuttering instead. He cleared his throat and tried again.
"...Dragon jumped on me," Luna started laughing at his words, and could just imagine how red his face was. "Weirdo," he mumbled.
"Loser," she shot back, before remembering the reason for the call. "Oh, yeah, what did you have to ask me?"
Ember stayed silent for a moment, and Luna heard him moving once again.
"My grandma started giving out pups, and I was wondering when you want to get Dragon," Ember said and Luna squealed, remembering her puppy.
"Actually, I have no idea, we've had a minor setback, so at most a week or two," she said, looking at the clock as she spoke.
3:06am
"Luna, as much as I love talking to you, I have a test tomorrow and it's four in the morning," Luna frowned, but nodded, forgetting momentarily that he couldn't see her.
"Okay, love you, goodnight," she said, laying in her own bed.
"Love you, too, goodnight," Ember said with a yawn, and he soon fell asleep, leaving the call on.
Luna reached over, pressing the red button and ending the call, before she laid her own head down, suddenly feeling exhausted.
She looked at her phone, a smile on her face since Ember had told her that he loved her. Normally, she couldn't sleep well if he didn't say it, so she gratefully closed her to allow sleep to consume her.
