Luna woke up at five the next morning, although she still felt tired. She didn't know why, but she did.
She hadn't slept all thirteen hours, but had actually woke up at eight to get something to eat, and had stayed up watching television with her dad until almost one.
"Luna, you've got to watch Noma today!" Her mother called out from the kitchen. Luna didn't mind, and sat up, swinging her legs over the side of her bed before walking to her closet.
She grabbed a pair of jean shorts and a sweater, before walking to her bathroom, getting ready to take a shower. One good thing about not having her never-before-seen hair, she didn't have to blow dry a mess.
She walked out of the bathroom after half an hour in the shower, starting to walk to the kitchen, but instead walking to her dresser, and pulling her phone off the charger.
Luna turned it on to be met with Ember's name on top of a message.
She read the small preview that her phone gave her, stopping when she saw the word prom.
It took her a moment to recover before she opened up the phone and went to the text app.
'Luna, I know you don't get to go to your prom, but that's why you have me, so that you can crash mine, so please come to my prom with me."
She dropped her phone on the dresser. Shock had overtaken her within a moment of seconds. She wanted to laugh and cry at the same time at how stupid Ember was.
She stared at the phone on her dresser, now standing ten feet away, although it felt like she was standing a hundred away.
She didn't want to answer the text that had appeared on her phone. It was like a prison waiting for her.
But the more she thought about it, the more she came to the conclusion that this was probably better than her own prom.
So, Luna walked to the door, twisting the knob and pulling it open before yelling, "Mom!"
