Getting high, blasting music till the cops are banging at her door, demanding her to turn the music down, was the only thing Lauren really did on her off time. Every time she gets new neighbors they end up moving out after a couple of weeks.
No one has visited her since she had moved in the new apartment. Well she did but after a while they all ended up leaving. She keeps her mind occupied with marijuana and alcohol. She hates it but she enjoys the relaxation it brings.
Even when thoughts of the last person she wants to think about creeps around. She smokes a little more, drinks a little more for the thoughts to go away but they never do. They stay and haunt her even more when she tries to ignore them.
She takes a deep breathe in as she lowers the music and throws away the bottle of jack that she had already finished. She decides to leave the apartment, her neighbors probably worried that the music had died down so early in the night.
So she walked not really knowing where but she walked to wherever her legs took her. She wanted to get away for a moment. Not caring that the memories would come back twice as hard once she gets home.
She continued to walk as the cold air hit her face, she stopped pulling out a cigarette wanting to light it but she had forgotten her lighter at home. "Fucking hell," Lauren exclaimed as she looked around finding a couple walking towards her.
She frowned as they were smiling dancing around in the dimly lit sidewalk. She shook her head as she imagined herself with Camila. They walked past her without even noticing her, she frowned as she broke the cigarette in half, throwing it on the ground not wanting to smoke anymore.
She got frustrated knowing she could have just walked back home and got her own lighter but she didn't care anymore. The thought of Camila scolding her for smoking got into her head. She wanted to stop smoking. She sighed as she realized that Camila was still in her thoughts. She knew she couldn't get away but she needed to.
So she continued walking. The way she was walking seemed almost familiar to her but she didn't care, all she wanted to do was to get away for a moment.
Lauren looked sick. She hadn't been sleeping, everyone can see that. The dark bags under her eyes were only getting darker. The most she could sleep was only an hour or two. Three on a good day.
She looked up from her worn down converse as she saw a woman look at her concerned. She looked back down not wanting this woman to tell her that she should get some sleep. She would only get frustrated and tell her that she is sleeping.
Or say something sarcastic as sleep needs her. She chuckled to herself and for a second she thought the lady had looked at her crazy. Lauren chuckled again as she could only hear the woman already saying that she was crazy.
She then grew sad as she started to remember how Camila would call her crazy when she decided that they should run away to Paris for a couple of days. Which they did. It was the best couple of days Lauren had ever had.
She shook her head not wanting to continue those memories. But then she started to think if Camila ever had those memories creep back at her.
Her vision started to blur as she realized that she was going deeper into her thoughts. She rubbed at her eyes and continued walking not wanting to continue the deep thinking.
She started to look everywhere except her converse she noticed that couples were everywhere around her. Smiling and laughing. It reminds her of the time Camila and her were smiling and laughing.
