"Miguel? Miguel de Guzman?"
I know it's a fucking stupid question but come on! We're talking about Miguel here!
Jia started laughing while wiping her tears away. The kind of laugh that comes from pain though.
"Tangina 'no? Hindi kapani-paniwala? But that's the truth, Bei."
"Fuck," I whispered. "I believe you, Jia. It's just it's Miguel, you know? Parang kahit sa panaginip ng panaginip ni Miguel, he has always been loyal to you."
I was insensitive at that comment, I know. But I just couldn't believe it actually happened.
Jia kept wiping at her tears.
"I might need that beer afterall, Bei."
I stood up to get Jia some beer. Jia said thanks when I gave her the alcohol and I plopped down beside her.
"How did that even happen?" I asked, still unable to grasp what Jia told me.
"They had sex, Bea."
I whipped my head towards Jia and squinted my eyes at her.
She was trying to contain her pain and was keeping a blank expression on her face.
I bumped my shoulder on hers.
"Don't be a smart ass, Jia. I know how babies are made. I mean, how could and why the fuck Miguel cheated on you?"
"I think we need a few more bottles for that story, Bei."
I shrugged and got some more.
We finished three bottles each already when Jia started telling the story.

I was surprised to hear the knob of the door of my condo unit rattling so early in the morning. I stopped eating and smiled though. I waited for Miguel to come inside.
Miguel's already made his dream come true and is now a pilot. He arrived from his flight last night but they had a small get together with his fellow pilots and the FAs. That's why I wasn't expecting him to be home so early.
Yes. Home.
Miguel and I aren't technically living together. But he spends most of his time here in my condo anyway. This is our first home.
I smiled even bigger when the door finally opened because I wanted Miguel to see how happy I am to see him.
But my smile vanished when I saw Miguel looking dishiveled like he came here right after waking up on the wrong side of the bed.
"Babe, what happened? Is there something wrong?" I asked worriedly as I stood up.
I wad taken aback when Miguel jogged towards me and knelt in front of me, hugging my thighs, his head pressed on my tummy.
"Jia, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Miguel was crying and that gave me a dreadful feeling.
I tried to move back just so I could cup Miguel's face. His eyes were closed and he was just crying.
"Miguel, ano ba? Anong nangyari?"
"Jia, mahal na mahal kita. Ikaw lang," he sobbed.
"I know, Babe. I love you, too," I replied.
"Jia, I'm sorry. I made a mistake, Jia. I-I," he couldn't finish what he was saying.
"Miguel, what is it?" I asked dreadfully.
