Our trip to Japan went really well. I'm not even kidding.
Jia held my hand most of the time. We took a lot of pictures. And we shared a bed when we slept because it was cold and Jia booked a hotel room with only one bed.
Even though it was difficult to control myself around her sometimes and painful because I feel like pinapaasa na ako ni Jia, I'm just a human being who cannot resist her warmth and the comfort of hugging the person that I love while sleeping.
"Uhm, Jia, I think they made a mistake. There's just one bed," I said when we got to our room.
For our trip to Malaysia and Thailand, we always booked a room with two single beds. It was actually cheaper than a room with a queen-sized bed.
"I know. I booked it," she said nonchalantly as she put her luggage aside.
She removed her footwear and placed it next to mine.
I snapped my head towards her.
"What?" Jia asked.
"Jia naman, eh," I groaned. "Diba I already told you to be a little bit more careful or considerate when sleeping beside someone who lo-likes you?"
I cursed myself for almost slipping up.
Jia only smirked.
"I told you I trust you, Isabel. And ako 'yung gustong katabi ka matulog, bawal ba?"
My eyes widened with what she said.
"Why do you want to sleep beside me?"
"Basta gusto ko," Jia answered.
She then pulled me to the bed and laid her head on my arm before wrapping her arms around my waist.
"Nap muna tayo. Maaga pa naman," Jia said with a yawn.
I stiffened but Jia did not seem to notice or care.
"Jia?"
No response.
Jia's weak against jet lag. She was already asleep.
In that moment, I made the decision to go with the flow. I chose to take advantage of the opportunities given to me. So I pulled Jia closer to me and kissed her on the top of her head before falling asleep.
Since then, Jia and I always sleep comfortably in each other's arms. Magreklamo pa ba ako? Eh, I always have a good sleep when Jia's beside me.
Before we went to Japan, I went to see Ate Ly several times until I was told she doesn't want to see any more visitors. I think I pissed her off a little. But after Japan and several games into the conference, I was told that Ate Ly went back to her newly renovated house and we could come visit. We as in Jia and I.
Jia was ecstatic about it.
"I can't wait to see Ate Ly," Jia said as we were driving to Ate Ly's house.
"I'm sure she'd be happy to see you. Diba nga last time she told me to tell you she missed you?" I said.
Jia smiled.
"I really just can't wait."
Since we reached a red light and my car was automatic, Jia took my right hand off the steering wheel and interlaced our fingers.
I looked at it with my heart pounding really loud. I'm still not used to Jia's spontaneous acts like this and I was not brave enough to ask what it meant. Besides, the last time I asked, she kept saying "basta" and I couldn't pry.
