I woke with Jia staring at me as she laid inside my arms. She gave me a beautiful smile as soon as I became fully conscious and I couldn't help but return her smile.

She leaned her head upwards and granted me a soft kiss that made my heart race so early in the morning.

"Good morning," Jia whispered.

"I love you," I replied.

Jia bit her lower lip lightly before leaning up to kiss me again. "And I love you, too."

I pulled Jia closer to me as I sighed into our embrace. This was the best way to wake up. God, I'd give anything to wake up like this for the rest of my life.

"Hon, we're really okay, right?" Jia asked softly.

I frowned as I pulled away. I considered her question for a moment and searched my heart and mind for any doubts I may still have over Jia's love for me. I found none.

But... I did want to know something else.

"Yes, Jia. I promise I will be honest about my feelings from now on and I promise I won't doubt your love ever again. But, Jia, for my peace of mind and so we can really move on from that chapter of your life, may I know what happened with you and Miguel? That night you stayed at his place?"

Jia put more distance between us but stayed within my reach as she looked at me hurtfully.

"Did you think I cheated on you?" She asked in a pained tone.

"No, of course not!" I denied adamantly.

I knew Jia wouldn't do that on purpose. But I did wonder if Miguel tried something, like kissing Jia, and succeeded before Jia pushed him away. I wondered if at any point during that time, Jia considered leaving me and getting back together with Miguel.

"I just want to know what happened, Jia. Why did you have to stay over? Did he try something? Did you consider leaving me? And I want you to be honest. I promise this time I would listen and really trust what you tell me."

Jia sighed deeply before meeting my eyes determinedly.

"I told him about us, Bea. I told him I'm in love with you," Jia said with a small smile.

My eyes widened in shock.

"What?"

Jia and I still haven't told anyone about us except our family and a small group of friends. And I definitely didn't expect her to tell Miguel.

Jia moved closer to me again as she settled her head on my shoulder and laid her right hand on my sternum, snuggling comfortably into me.

"That night..."

I was surprised when someone called to tell me that Miguel was drunk in a bar. The bartender said Miguel did not bring anything with him except his phone that had me on speed dial.

At first, I had no intention of going to the bar. But then, I still cared for Miguel and I didn't want to get him in trouble. So, I went and picked him up. Plus, I had decided to really have closure with him. This can't go on. This would only keep on hurting Bea and I didn't want that.

When I got there, he was definitely drunk but happy to see me. I could only frown at him.

I escorted him to the uber that I booked and managed to convince him to give his address. There was no chance that I would bring him to my condo anyway. That was mine and Bea's safe haven. I wouldn't tarnish that with Miguel's presence.
