Call it mother's intuition, they always claim mothers know best and this mother knew fucking best.

"Look, see for yourself, we have been played!" Elliott rubs his eyes as I hold the phone up in front of him, showing him the message.

"That bitch." He grit out after observing, his naked body swinging off the bed in a second, it was as if he wasn't asleep a minute ago.

"What are you doing?" He angrily gets dressed. "Getting dressed to go give her a piece of my damn mind."

"No. We must find the boy and make sure he's alright, from this text message, she just left him with a friend." I get off the bed and walk over to him.

"We call the cops." I shake my head. "For something so simple? We can do it, show her up for the liar she is."

"Gianna-"

"I know you're going to want to fight it, it's simple El, lets just do it right now, clean and quick." I held the phone up.

"I responded asking him who else was there. He said no one, why would I ask that, she left him alone."

"Fine." After seconds he agreed. "Bring the phone back before she wakes up, I'll get dressed." He leaves and I bring the phone back. I shake my head as I set the phone down.

For someone who claims to have a missing son, she sure is sleeping a great deal, if my child were to ever go missing, I'd grow mad.

You're already mad and he's not even missing.

I roll my eyes and leave her room, Elliott was almost dressed and he had clothes out for me too.

"All black, are we spies now?" I giggle and he chuckles, I tug the top over my head. "Maybe... no! Wear a bra." I rub my index fingers over my nipple and chuckle. "Stop laughing, that's too sexy."

"Oh, have some control." I put my skinny black jeans on and he puts a hat on his head then walks over to me with one, he smiles after placing it on my head.

"I remember too." I say looking up at him with a blushing smile, the first time we went out together involved a pair of hats like these.

"Let's go." He takes my hand and we head for the door, I grab my phone on the way and send my mother a message.

Mom: Good morning mom, please watch Aiden for us, something came up and we both have to leave.

I hit send and we went on our way.

"Is this really it?" Elliott questions as he looks through the windshield, a house about 2 stories stood in front of us, obviously abandoned and visibly in deplorable condition.

"What kind of mother leaves her child in this dump?"

"One that is willing to fake a kidnapping to con us." He removes his seatbelt and steps outside. I follow suit, the eerie aspects of this location is not lost.

The willow trees shouted as the wind blew, the leaves collided with each other as the wind swayed the branches, every step we took was audible as dried leaves crumbled beneath our weight.

"I change my mind, maybe we should call the cops." Elliott takes my hand giving it a squeeze. "We've come this far babe, now isn't the time to chicken out." He begins walking and I follow, holding his hand does nothing for my nerves.

Strangely, the door was locked. The floor creaked as we walked to the door and I was not expecting it to be locked, let alone having a welcome mat.

Elliott picks it up as he searches for a key, if someone was really in there then we had to be quiet getting in. I search the flowerless pots.

"Anything?" He shakes his head and then dips in his pocket, going down on one knee as he tries to get himself on the same level with the low knob.
