Chapter 14 Did Not See That Coming

After sitting up all night with her, she was not getting any better. She was experiencing chills, headaches, her body hurt, nothing tasted good, not even blood. Her color was almost gone, she was beginning to look like the rest of the Cullen clan. Which made me think that she was just beginning to freeze. But the sickness didn't make any sense, especially since blood didn't even taste good.

My mind was going crazy. I was overloaded with fear and anxiety. This couldn't be normal, not even for a human. She got mad when I didn't get sick either. Proved it wasn't the sandwich. She just laid for the day around the house reading, watching movies, and I would play games, or talk with her just to keep both of our minds occupied with something else.

"Jake?" She whispered when we were laying in bed later that night.

I propped myself up on my elbow and looked at her "yeah?"

"Do you think that even though I am still half human, that my features will grow older when I am really old?"

"I doubt it, if Carlisle says that you are going to freeze physically like a vampire, then you are probably going to look 18 forever. Look at me."

"Yeah but, you froze at 16, and you look more mature then that."

"That's just because I am so big. The defined muscles make my face look older then it really is."

She was quiet for a while, I had thought that she had fallen asleep at first, but then she started talking again.

"Are you sad that I am going to freeze up like a vampire?" What did she mean by freeze up. She was still going to be my Ness. No matter what.

"What do you mean?"

"I won't be able to do some of the things that I do now."

"Like what?"

"Well, I won't be eating human food. I don't know if I will sleep anymore. I mean does this mean that I become a vampire pretty much?"

"No, remember Nahuel? He stopped aging, and just stopped eating human food, and a few other things, but he never has become a full vampire."

She was silent again. I could tell that she was deep in thought. I began to wish that I had Edward's gift, so that I could read her mind. I finally couldn't take the silence anymore and had to ask. "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing really."

"Oh come on, I know that you are thinking something. Tell me, please?"

"Well," She took a deep breath and sat up next to me. "Have you ever regretting imprinting me, because of what I am? I don't mean who I am. Just what I am."

I couldn't believe my ears, how could she think that I would ever regret imprinting on her. She is the best thing that ever happened to me.

"Ness! How could you even think something like that. Of course not. Not once."

"But I can't do some of the normal things that human girls do, or even werewolf women."

"Like what?" There was nothing that they could do that would make them better in a way than her.

"Well, like kids." I definitely did not see that coming. "I mean, Jacob, I can't have kids. I don't think it is humanly possible for a part human, part vampire, AND part werewolf to have a baby together."

I have to admit, I had never thought of it before. I never really realized that we were never going to have kids of our own, biologically at least. I could see by the expression of her face that it bothered her to not be able to give me children. My hand stroked her face to comfort her. Her forehead looked tense, so my fingers pressed against the lines to smooth them out.

"Ness, sweetheart." I pulled her face up to look at me. "There is nothing that you could do, or could not do, that would make me feel any different about you. You have made me more happy then you can ever realize."

Her eyes filled with tears as they stared at me. "Really? Nothing? Not even having a baby?"

I laughed once- "Not even that. We can still have kids, we can adopt some. We technically already have a son." She looked at me really confused. "Seth!" She burst into laughter and nodded her head. Seth was practically like our son, he would talk to Ness like she was his mom almost. And me being the Alpha dog, well I was spoken to mostly as a father. She sighed and laid back down on the bed. A painful expression came over her face and she clutched her stomach. She cried out in pain and twisted her arms tighter around her waist.

"Ness, what's wrong?" Her body twisted into a fetal position and laid there.

"My stomach, it really hurts."

"Do you feel like you are going to throw up?"

"No, it feels like someone is stabbing me. It is really painful." My hand went to her forehead in response, she was burning up, in fact my hand burned. I pulled it away swiftly and shook it to cool it off.

"Ouch."

"What?"

"You, burned me."

"I did what?" She looked up at me in horror, something was wrong. Definitely wrong. Nothing burns my skin. At least, not until now.
