Chapter 9 A New Beginning

Jacob POV

We had been driving for hours. We were all the way through Oregon now, yet we have said nothing to each other. Doubt was filling every part of my body. Had I really just done the right thing? Leaving my home, taking Ness from her family. Leaving them to fend for themselves. I looked over at her, she was looking out of the window. She had been doing that ever since we left. Her eyes were red and puffy, her nose was pink, and her lips were a little swollen. The face that most people have after a long hard cry. I was trying everything possible to cheer her up. But nothing was working. It had been hours since we ate. Maybe some food were cheer her up. "Are you hungry baby?" I sheepishly asked.

She took a deep sigh "A little" Her stomach growled. Her hand flew to her stomach. "Maybe a lot"

"Where would you like to eat, we can go anywhere you would like."

"Hmmm...I don't care, breakfast sounds good." I glanced down at the clock, We had been driving all night. It was already 6:00 am. I glanced out the window and saw the sun beginning to rise.

"Oh, yeah that would be good" I grinned at her.

"I would have thought that you would have been hungry a long time ago. And knowing you, you would have made it known!" She grabbed my hand. She felt so soft to me.

"Well, I was...just...distracted. Had some things on my mind."

A look of concern came over her face. "What about?" I wasn't about to burden her with my thoughts, she already had enough on her mind.

"Nothing, don't worry about it" I smiled at her and kissed her hand.

She became playful, "Hey! We are married now! Don't make me tickle it out of you! Because believe me, I will." I laughed hard, it felt good to smile and laugh.

"I am just worried, about you, wondering if I made the right decision in asking you to come with me. Wondering if you are truly happy." She looked down at her hand and touched the ring that now had a new home.

"I do miss my family, my heart is breaking over that. I am worried about them. My dad said he would call me as soon as things were ok again. And he hasn't called yet." I started to speak, but she cut me off "BUT, I am happy that I am with you. AND, I am thrilled, to be married to you at last!"

"At last?" Had she wanted this before?

"Well, I sorta imagined it when I was younger." I couldn't help but smile.

"You did!"

"Yeah, I had a dream about it one time, and after that thought about what it would be like."

"And?" She leaned up to kiss me on the cheek

"Perfect!"

We pulled into a drive through at a fast food place and got some breakfast, we both ordered a lot, I am sure that the person talking on the speaker thought we were ordering for 10 people. We pulled into the parking lot to eat. It wasn't my favorite food, but it tasted good to be eating something again. My phone started ringing in my pocket. Ness jumped hoping it was her parents. But looking at the number she was going to be disappointed, it was Sam. They must be closer to our new home then we were. "Hey Sam, you good?" I listened as he told me that they had arrived in New Mexico and found their new home. There was enough places for everyone. And everything looked good from there. "Okay thanks Sam, we will get there Shortly." I hung up the phone and looked at Renesmee, she looked sick. "You okay? You don't look so good."

"Yeah, I am just really worried, I wish that I could talk to my parents, hear their voices, make sure they are okay."

"Look, baby, I know that they are fine. Your parents and the rest of the family are really strong. I am sure they are just getting things normal again before they risk any more danger. Then they are going to call you as soon as they can."

"Your right" She took a deep breath and a huge bite out of her breakfast burrito and smiled at me with a mouth full of food. I laughed and leaned down to kiss her. She swallowed her food, and began kissing me back. I could feel the passion building. We were married now, and there was nothing holding us back.

"Wait Ness, not here, not now." She looked really disappointed. I began to reassure her. "It's not that I don't want to, because believe me, I DO! I just want it to be special, so not in a cramped car, somewhere where we can let go, and relax." She nodded her head in agreement. I started the car and we began driving again.

After 2 hours, Ness woke up from her sleep. I was fighting mine though, I was really tired. My eyes were wide open trying not to let them close.

"Honey, do you want me to drive so you can sleep?" I shook my head, I could do this. "Honey you look like you are going to pass out. Come on, let me drive. Just for a little bit, so you can get some sleep." I finally agreed pulled over and let her take my place. She looked so cute driving. She inherited her need for speed from her family. But I still fell safe enough. I leaned the seat back and closed my eyes. My breathing started to slow and I let the darkness take me.

I woke up to the heat burning my skin. I looked over at Ness she was listening to music softly and singing along. She had a beautiful voice. "I love hearing you sing baby"

"Awe thanks, Good morning sleepy head, have a nice rest?"

"Yeah, how long have I been asleep?"

"Oh about 5 hours."

"5 HOURS! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME, WHERE ARE WE?"

"We, my nervous wreck husband, are in New Mexico. We are about 10 minutes from the Reservation."

"How did you know how to get here?"

"Sam called, I told him that you were asleep so he gave me directions."

"Any word from your parents yet?" She dropped her head and shook it. I knew this was killing her. Why were they taking so long to call. It had been almost 18 hours since we have heard from them. Now I was starting to get worried.
