Linda's POV:
Waking up in my old room felt weird after a few days. I felt like it was a dream. Like, was this even reality? It was hard to say.
Lately, I've been living in two different worlds-- and the overwhelming feeling always washed over me again and again.
It felt weird to just sit around the house while my brother was in his office, working.
Now, of course, I should've been doing some online classes to get into college, but Leighton decided that it wouldn't be ideal for me at the moment.
Considering the fact that there was still quite a lot of paparazzi outside both the mansion and my apartment building.
I sighed as I stuck my feet into the shallow end of the pool.
Basically, that's what I've been doing almost everyday. Come out to the pool and think while I stuck my feet in it.
There were times where I would occasionally call and text Glenn, but he wouldn't answer. That worried me.
He's probably busy, I thought to myself as I looked into the pool. Glenn is the future King of Oriens after all.
Then, out of nowhere, my brother pushed me into the shallow end of the pool.
I couldn't help but scream.
My brother laughed as I turned around as I stood up, my clothes soaked.
"You're so mean!" I said, trying to sound annoyed, but I couldn't help but laugh either.
"Come here," He said as he gave me his hand.
A thought crossed my mind, pull my brother into the water, but what if he expects that.
Eh, I thought as I took his hand, he deserves to be pulled into the water.
So, as soon as I took hold of his hand I pulled him in.
Shock crossed my brother's face before he fell in.
"I should have expected that," He said and chuckled.
"Maybe," I laughed as I stuck my tongue out.
Leighton narrowed his eyes before he splashed me with water.
I squealed as I splashed water back to him.
When we got out of the pool, our clothes were soaked through that we had to take a shower and change clothes.
Having a sudden water fight with my brother-- not had it made us closer it also made me forget about Glenn not responding to my calls or text messages.
Until I was in my room, alone.
I sighed.
Glenn's POV:
My phone buzzed again.
Regrettably, I glanced at the screen as my father had swamped me with documents-- on purpose if I might add.
It was Linda.
Of course, I could take a break and text her at least to one of her ten text messages-- but I'd feel guilty.
There was Elizabeth.
I growled.
"Stupid betrothal," I cursed under my breath.
How I could forget about the betrothal, I had no idea-- actually, I did. It was Linda. Ever since I met her as a kid, I only had eyes for her.
So when I saw her, after ten long years, I was ecstatic and now my father was ruining everything by putting that damn betrothal in my face.
Why now? I thought as I turned off my phone. Why remind me of my betrothal with Elizabeth?!
I knew the answer to those questions too.
My father didn't like the fact that I was having an interest in someone other than Elizabeth.
Author's Note:
Okay, so here is another short chapter! Sorry that it's short and I'm sorry that it took me so long to update.
I got a little bit of writers block from trying to put Elizabeth in the story!
Hope you like this chapter anyway!
Until next time, my lovelies!
