Every time I was at a Ball in the Castle of Lord Nobel Michel, it felt like a dream. A fairytale. I felt like Cinderella.
Glenn was there, along with the other Princes, when I entered the Ballroom.
The other Princes saw me before Glenn did. So, when Glenn saw me-- in the dress-- he did a double take. Literally, which made me blush.
"What," I looked into his eyes before I looked down at the pink dress that I had had on, "do you not like the dress?"
"No, I like it." He cleared his throat as the other Princes laughed at our red faces.
I shook my head as I was whisked away into a dance with Glenn.
"Really," He said as he looked down at me as we danced. "I like the dress. You look beautiful."
"Thank you, Glenn." I said as I smiled up at him.
After we came back to the other Princes. Prince Edward whisked me into another round of dancing.
"Glenn seems happy," He said in my ear.
"H-He does?" I said before he twirled me out.
Prince Edward nodded. "I don't think I've ever seen him this happy before."
I smiled as I remembered the time I first met him when we were kids.
When I asked him if I could play with him, he seemed genuinely happy. Was he not happy after I had met him? I guess that was the case.
The Princes were mingling with other guests as I aimlessly walked around the Ballroom. A few guests would look at me, give me questioning looks, whisper among themselves.
Saying, like:
"Isn't she that girl in the papers? The one who supposingly has family in Charles that are of Noble birth?"
"How does she know all of the Princes so personally?"
"She doesn't look any special. I don't think that she's part of that family that are of Noble birth."
I inwardly sighed as I went to the balcony, to get fresh air.
People sure have taken those rumors seriously, I thought as I looked out into the night of Nobel Michel, but are they right? That I'm not of Noble birth?
"That would be a dream." I whispered to myself as I closed my eyes when a light cool breeze washed over my warm face.
"What would be a dream?"
I open my eyes to find that I wasn't not alone on the balcony anymore. A tall man in a black tuxedo stood behind me. The color of his hair and eyes...they were exactly the same color as mine.
"Nothing," I said quickly before he could repeat his question. "You weren't supposed to hear that." I added as I gave my back to him.
The man chuckled as he stood next to me. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize that anyone would be here. Sometimes these type of parties are...suffocating."
"I guess," I briefly looked at him before I looked back up at the night sky. The sky was clear. So you could see the constellations.
"You know, I haven't seen you at these parties ever since that one night with Prince Edward."
"Well," I shrugged as I looked into his eyes. My color of eyes. "I was invited by Prince Edward that day."
"Are you a Noble?" He raised an eyebrow as he took a sip of his champagne.
"No," I said as my head began to hurt. "I'm not."
"What is your name, if I may ask?"
I hesitated, but what was the harm in giving this man my name?
