A few weeks after our engagement had become public to, well, everyone. Glenn and I had a romantic, private dinner in the gardens at the Castle in Oriens.
It felt nice to be alone after attending so many parties and other functions.
Like, a breather of some sort.
However, I couldn't help but feel suspicious because this dinner was just a bit sudden.
Of course, I didn't say anything.
Might as well live in the moment right?
"Are you okay?" Glenn asked as we ate our desert.
I raised an eyebrow as I ate a spoonful of my French vanilla ice cream.
"Yeah, I'm okay, silly. Why wouldn't I be?"
He laughed.
"Let me rephrase that," He said as he watched me eat my desert. "Are you okay, that everyone knows that we're officially engaged?"
I smiled as I stared into his eyes.
"Well, yes I am, silly." I scooped some of his whipped cream with my index finger and wiped it on his nose.
Glenn's eyes widened in disbelief, but in the end he thought nothing of it. He just laughed it off and put some whipped cream on my nose as well.
"Having people know that we're together," I shrugged as I wiped my nose with my napkin, "we don't have to hide it anymore."
"That's true," He agreed. "Come here." He added as he leaned forward with his napkin.
"Did I miss some?"
"Yes," He nodded and wiped some whipped cream away from the bridge of my nose.
He sat back after he wiped my nose.
"You know..." He trailed off as he looked down at the table cloth.
"What," I prompted as I studied his face, his eyes still on the table cloth.
"I hadn't properly asked you to be my...Princess."
"That's okay," I assured him as I reached over to touch his hand.
Glenn looked up and the pink blush on his cheeks had turned a deep red. He was embarrassed and it was cute.
"Being with you, Glenn, like this." I briefly looked around us before keeping our eyes locked together after that. "This is all-- and more-- than I can ask for."
"So," He shyly got up from his chair and stood next to me then, "you wouldn't want this?"
"Glenn, what are you--" I stopped as I watched him get down on one knee.
I gasped as I watched him get a small black, sleek box out of the inside of his coats pocket.
"Linda Long," He began as he opened the box to reveal an elegant engagement ring. "After ten years, will you do me the honor of being my Princess, my wife, my Queen?"
I bit down on my lower lip as I blinked back tears that were ready to spill over.
"Oh, Glenn, yes!" I stood up and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Yes, yes! I will be your Princess, your wife and your Queen as you are my Prince, my husband and my King."
Glenn held me in his arms for a moment before he gently slid the engagement ring on my ring finger.
"I love you, Linda."
"I love you, Glenn."
