Chapter eight:

                                 ~Ashton Hunt~

Last night before I went to bed Nick called me. I was so annoyed because I was just about to have a good dream when suddenly I heard my phone ringing. "Hey bro." He greeted.

"Dude I was deep in my sleep and then you call from nowhere." I groaned.

"Oops."

"What do you want?" I asked irritably.

"You know what never mind I'll just tell you tomorrow morning."

"Bye Nick." I said dropping the phone. He could have just told me in the morning instead of waking me up in the middle of the night.

In the morning I was so tired and struggled to wake up since I couldn't sleep after Nick called.  I got to school on time and walked to my locker checking what my first period is. English again. I smiled to myself thinking that I'd see Rose.

I walked in class and walked towards my desk. English started and I noticed that Rosia wasn't at school.

After English I asked Hailey why Rosia didn't come to school and she told me that her flu got worse. As soon as I found out that her flu got worse I decided to go and visit her during lunch time. I asked Hailey for her address and when it was lunch time I ran straight to my car and drove to Rosia's house.

Once I got to her street I slowed down and checked all the houses so that I don't miss her house. Once I found it I parked in the driveway and went to the front door. I knocked several times until someone opened the door. The door opened revealing a lady who looked just like Rosia but an older lady of course. "Hi Mrs Banks. I'm sure you've never heard of me but I'm Rosia's friend Ashton."

"Oh nice to meet you, I'm her mother." She said shaking my hand.

"Nice to meet you too mam. I came to work on a project that I have with Rosia."

"Yeah sure, no problem. She's upstairs in her room. Her room is the first one on the left hand side." Mrs Banks directed me.

"Thank you so much mam, I won't be long." I assured her while climbing the stairs.

Today I stayed home since my flu got worse and decided to just stay in bed. I took a quick warm shower and changed into some comfy clothes. I went downstairs to have breakfast and take my medicine before going back to my room. I grabbed my book that I've been reading and crawled into bed.

As I was reading my book I looked out the window and saw a black Mercedes parked in the driveway. I wondered who it was but then thought to myself that it was probably one of mom's friends. I heard the car door open and my heart dropped when I saw who it was.

Ashton.

I got nervous and started panicking thinking why he would visit me. I heard him talking to my mom at the front door and hoped that my mom would make up an excuse such as 'she's sleeping' or 'she's not well'. I heard my mom say 'come in' and I started breathing in and out calming myself down. I put my hand over my forehead as my headache worsened.

I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and I ignored them concentrating on my book. Someone knocked on the door and I quickly fixed myself before saying  "Come in".

My head shot up and I saw a tall figure standing in front of me. A strong set of golden-yellow eyes staring at me, making my heart race. "Hey."

"Hey. What are you doing here Ashton?" I asked sipping my water.
