"Hey Ruby, grab a jelly donut, why don't you." Ruby walked in thinking about calling Clancy and her friends afterwards.
"Sure," said Ruby, "What you got for me?"
"Well so far there have been disappearances all over town."
"Like?"
"Well, they aren't people you'd want to disappear."
"Come on man, stop with the cliffhanger."
"Del Lasco, Mouse Huxtable, Elliot... basically all your friends." Ruby looked astounded.
"Seriously. You aren't joking?" All at once she started to feel dizzy. Why my friends? Does this have something to do with the Count, or are all these just coincidences? Coincidences, but all of them aren't this big and that meant it had to be...
"Umm... Ruby?"
"Yeah, so Umm... when did they disappear, because I met all of them like the day before yesterday."
"The funny thing is, that they all disappeared yesterday, at around the same time."
"But so we know the last location of them?"
"Yes we do know that. We also know the last time they were seen."
"So when was that?"
"Around 9:00 pm."
"And where?"
"I've pinned it up on the map. Also I have pinned up the latest locations of the Count around the time."
"They also seem to be near each other."
"Yes."
"So that gives us the conclusion that the Count is behind this all."
"Yes again."Just then there was a knock on the door.
"Come in."
"It's me Baker." he said as he entered. "LB sent me to help, you know to get me started on this whole secret spy stuff." he shrugged.
"Yeah we kind of need an extra brain, so you are welcome." said Blacker and did a thumbs-up.
"So, what you got?" They filled him in. And all at once Ruby's limbs felt heavy. First someone was going to kill her, no they had her friends who they would probably torture. Knowing who was behind this added to the burden.
"Blacker, I need to get some water."
"Sure." Bradley looked at Blacker sideways, but Blacker shook his head. Ruby walked out of the room feeling sick.
"What's happened to her?"
"All the people who are missing are her friends."
"Oh, I feel so sorry for her."
"Knowing the Count is the one behind this doesn't help either..."
"Torture?"
"Death with torture."
"They are 13 years old, why?"
"We don't know, but what we do know is that there is a mole in Spectrum."
"This mole is probably bad, right?"
"Bad is an understatement." Baker looked at his feet, he knew this was a lot for the kid. Blacker sighed. "We have to find that mole- he or she is even worse than the last."
"And looking at what he or she is doing now is just the start." said Baker.
"They could destroy Spectrum."
"You think it could get to that?"
"Looking at the circumstances, yes, it's possible." Ruby stood outside the room, she could hear everything- it was not comforting.
Just then there came a high -pitched scream and everyone stopped in there tracks.
