i walk into school, the fear of my dad hanging over me and a pit forming in my stomach as i knew me and max were currently not on talking terms.
i also haven't spoken to talia or josh in days.
i know josh is mad at me, but i don't know why talia was suddenly shutting me out.
walking into school on your first day back knowing you have no one to turn to, it wasn't a nice feeling.
i've never really had that anyway.
i've always been the outsider.
and i guess i always will be.
" h-hey " i hear someone call.
i didn't recognise the voice at all, and as i turned around, i didn't recognise the face either.
" hi " i reply, almost as if i was asking a question.
" i'm new and don't really know where i'm going so i was just wondering if you could help me maybe? " the boy asks, looking down at the pile of papers he was holding in his hands.
i chuckle, " sure. it's my first day back in a long time too so we can suffer this day together "
the boy smiles, his beaming brown eyes lighting up as he runs his fingers through his curly mess of hair.
" i'm louis " he says, stretching his hand out for me shake.
i accept and place my hand into his, shaking it firmly before pulling away, " i'm sadie "
" so, sadie, how come you haven't been in school for a while, " he asks, his eyes immediately widen and he opens his mouth to continue talking, " if you don't mind me asking "
" it's a long story i'm not interested in going into detail about, but let's just say, i had some issues " i explain briefly, as louis nods his head understandably.
" sorry if i asked too much of a personal question considering we met five minutes ago "
" no worries, now, where's your first class? " i ask.
louis flicks through the numerous sheets he has in his hands until he finally comes across a timetable.
" uhm, room A103 " he says, which causes a wide smile to spread across my face.
" lucky for you, so am i! although you might not be too lucky. that's mr brown's class and let's just say mr brown is, different "
louis laughs, " i'm mentally preparing myself "

talking with louis seemed to take everything off of my mind.
he seemed so genuinely sweet and i couldn't wait to get to know him.
although, we'll see how that goes.
after hearing rumours he may not want to look me in the eye ever again.

i sat staring at the white board at the front of the classroom, waiting for mr brown to walk in, and waiting for first period to start.
i knew today was sadie's first day back and i knew i should have been there for her.
i'm just not very good at apologising even when i know i should.
i shouldn't have freaked at her but i have, and i can't take it back now.

the classroom door swings open and in walks sadie with a boy walking beside her.
they were laughing about something he had said and the smile on sadie's face was something i'd never seen before.
it was hard to explain, but she looked happy.
as the pair took a seat, both still laughing about whatever he had said, i felt a pit form in my stomach.
i watch them intensely from the back of the room, noticing how happy sadie seemed to be.
the fact that it wasn't me making her laugh made me slightly jealous.
but one thing i knew for sure was that whoever this boy was,
i envied him.
