Chapter 2 : Mate

Dayu's POV

"Moooommm! I'm home!!" I missed her, I missed this home, so I just had to scream for old time sake. Second later I heard my mum screamed "in the kitchen" to me. I strolled to the kitchen after left my backpack in the living room. Mum was in the kitchen cooking up a storm.

"What the hell, mum? You told me it will only four of us? Why do you cook this much?"

"Language, Dayu!" She hit me gently with the wooden spoon. Then not a second later she hugged me and swung me left and right like a rag doll while murmuring how much she missed me. Her 5'2" body was much smaller than my 6 foot, but I didn't mind to be her doll once in a while.

"Happy Birthday my baby. I love you." She kissed both of my cheeks. 

"I'm not a baby anymore, mum. I'm 21, I'm a grown man. And I love you too." I said after I kissed her cheeks.

"No matter how old you are, you're still my baby!" She said before turned back to her cooking frenzy. "Oh it won't be only us four, Jedd will bring his cousin over."

"Jedd has a cousin? Since when?" Jedd, being my sister's fiancé for 2 years already, never once told us he had a cousin.

"Of course since birth, you silly." I rolled my eyes hearing my mum's chuckled. "I also never heard about his cousin, but apparently he has one, so be nice!"

"When I ever not be nice to our guest?" It was half true. I never acted up in front of anyone, but didn't I opened up to them either. Normally on a family meeting, I only silently sat there and heard everyone talking. I just couldn't bring myself to open up to anyone other than my mum and sister. I knew they were worried, as I never interested in anyone or brought any boyfriend home. Yes, I was gay! Sue me!

I heard my mum sighed and changing the subject. "Go play or something, don't interrupt me here. Only please the door when they come." Play? She literally thought I was only 5.

"Yeah yeah, I'll be in my room if you need me." I got out the kitchen and took my backpack with me upstairs to my room. My bedroom was still clean like I left it a week ago. I didn't have any posters plastered on the wall. There was only two long shelves mounted on the wall, displaying the trophies and medals I got from dancing competitions, and also a few of family photos.

I laid down in my bed, enjoying the silence for a moment. It has been a while since I felt this relaxed. This house wasn't the same as in my nightmare, maybe that's why I felt more laid back in here, also knowing I wasn't alone. It wasn't long before the tiredness overtook me.

Qing's POV

Finally I was back! It has been more than four years since the last time I went home. I decided to finished my bachelor first in London before I went back home and took over the Alpha position from my Dad. Our Pack called Midnight Moon Pack and we were one of the largest and strongest pack in the U.S.

As the next leader of the pack, the next in line to take care and protect the whole pack, I had been trained since I was a pup. But the Alpha's responsibility was more than the physical aspect. Alphas also dealt with paper works and pack's finance. Hence my study in London.

Now here I was, the next Alpha of the strongest pack, sitting in the taxi on the way from the airport to the pack house in Pasadena, feeling giddy and excited like a three years old waiting for their present. Yeah, I couldn't wait to find my mate. I didn't find my mate in London, even though I lived near a pack. My guess was, my mate was in my pack. My wolf and I could feel that our mate was near!

We, werewolves, normally found our mates since 18years old. But I went to London before I even turned 18. My wolf whined remembering the last 4 years without finding our mate because of my responsibility to finish my study first. I couldn't really talk to my wolf, there wasn't two consciousness in my body. Only I could feel how my wolf, Ajax, felt. Like now, he was somehow had been on edge since my cousin told me to come to his fiancé's house for a birthday party.
