Chapter 10 : You Taste Delicious

Dayu's POV

Earlier I tried desperately to connect the dots and instead just causing a short circuit. I couldn't think anymore, all of these new information was too overwhelming for me. Was my live until now was just a lie? That was why I felt so empty all this years? I was angry yet sad at the same time. My mum and dad sacrificed themselves to save me, yet I couldn't remember a thing. My hands were clammy and I almost hyperventilated, but Qing held my hands and I got a little calmer.

After the Qing asked about the wizard, grandma looked astonished and she let out a loud gasp, "How do you know about that?" Qing was really the type that didn't beat around the bush. But I was glad that it wasn't only me that shocked to the core the entire time.

"My papa told me the story, we didn't know whether it was real. But seeing you're this shocked, that must be true. Dayu is his offspring."

"No one else can know about this!" She screamed and her eyes turned green. I had never seen my grandma this enraged.

"You aren't planning to tell Dayu about this, are you?" Qing asked bluntly.

"Of course I was about to tell him that, but I didn't think anyone else know about this. Even not everyone in our family knows!"

"Don't worry, we all want to protect Dayu. No one else will know." My grandma nodded agreely then she explained everything to us.

"The wizard is our anchestor, my 9th-Great Grandfather to be exact. He was born with an exceptional magical core. When he was a teenager he got accepted to be the apprentice of the most powerful sorcerer at that time. He trusted his master so, he even told him the secret that he could predict the future. One day, while he was on a journey to find a special ingredient for his potion, he heard a siren sang on top of the corals in the middle of the sea. He got enchanted and fell in love with her. She was a pure blood siren, she only had mermaid tail, so the wizard used his magic to turn her tail into legs. They got married and had a daughter together.

After years, suddenly his secret got revealed. Every king from every land came to assist him. War broke out, children and innocent people got killed. Until one day he found out that his master was the one who exposed the secret. He got really mad and used all of his might to teleport his family and their house to another land. Not only that, he also concealed his presence with his power so that no one could sense him. He hoped no one in the family would inherit his power, but his hope was ruined as he saw that in the future a man siren in his family will inherit his power."

"Wait, so he didn't open up the ground to get away?"

"No, why would he do that?" She furrowed her brows in confusion.

"I don't know, Qing's papa told us that version." I said to her.

I saw Qing was thinking hard and he finally asked, "It was said that the offspring would be more powerful than the wizard himself. Is that true? And about the seal, can't it be broken? You said it got weakened. Then there will be a way to broke it."

"You are really sharp, I can't conceal anything from you." My grandma snickered. "I don't have a definite answer for that questions, as situation like this had never happened before. Sirens never had any boys before. Dayu was the only one. As Dayu has a wizard and siren blood in his gene, it would be possible that he would be more powerful than the wizard.

As for the seal, I personally think the only way that could possibly break the seal is for you guys to complete the mating-bond. When the bond completed, his sirens will get his power back and he could break free. But no one can prove the theory. No one has ever performed this seal before, as it required a sacrifice in order to complete it."
