Chapter 18 : Lack of Protein

Qing's POV

Jedd had never been the brightest when we were pups, but this time he was really hilarious. I was expecting Mary or Minerva who would fainted, but no, it was him. I was laughing as Dad helped him up.

We told Dayu's family all the things Wynter told us, and how we had the first ultrasound. After they got over their amazement, they hugged us both at the same time, a group hug. Papa and Mary were already discussing the nursery.

I told them that next month we'll be moving in to the pack house. I thought we could use the small house beside the pack house, so we could also have privacy, because I didn't think Papa and Jedd know the word personal space.

Sharp 6 pm., we walked to the backyard. The pack members were already waiting excitedly for us. Dayu and I stood in front of them all with Dad and Papa beside us.

"Hello everyone, thank you for coming on such a short notice. I know you've heard about my mate, but I've never had the chance to officially introduce my mate to everyone. Today I want to use this chance to  introduce you all to my mate, your Alpha Feng Jianyu." I threw my arm over his shoulder while I announced him proudly in front of the pack members.

Everyone cheered and clapped before an angry voice roared from the middle of the crowd. "I object!" My head snapped angrily to the source of the voice. It came from Ethan Black, the Gamma's second son.

"I object to have a siren Alpha. What can a siren do besides singing? They can't do anything! You want him to lead the pack? My sister is much better than that flamboyant guy of yours!"

"SHUT UP! How dare you say something like that to my mate!" This guy was seeking for death, talking like that about my Dayu. I'll cut his throat with my own claws.

As I used my Alpha's voice, the other also flinched and showed their neck, showing that they surrendered. Only that bastard still had his head up high. His body was shaking, desperately resisting his Alpha.

"I won't lower my head for a low being like you. You know my sister loved you, she has always been by your side and she even followed you to London! But you, you rejected her without thinking twice, even with hurtful and cold words! You threw away the prettiest and most powerful Omega in this pack just to mate with a siren?!"

The pack members started talking to one another. Half of them agreed to him, while the other disagree. The chatter getting louder and louder, some of them even shouted. I couldn't take his disrespect anymore. My wolf was about took control when Dayu held my hand to calm me down.

Suddenly Dayu raised his palm, which was glowing bright blue and said,

"Calm down!" His fierce yet soothing voice vibrating in my ears. And all of a sudden, a calming energy blasted throughout the backyard.

The frantically thumping of my heart turned calmer and my strong clenched fists were now loosened. My anger was immediately dissipate, replaced with warm and calm emotion. The crowd's chatter gradually stopped, showing that they were also calmed down. They all had a weird expression on their faces, looking intently at Dayu.

"And you!" Dayu pointed his index finger to Ethan, who was now petrified and had a confused expression on his face. The members' head jerked to look at Ethan, and they instinctively cleared out the path.

"Come here." Dayu said with a turned his palm upside down and jerked his index finger at himself, beckoning Ethan to come over. But what happened next made my jaw dropped open.
