Dayu's POV

"So that's what happened before we met in the hallway." I said to Qing while munching on some gummy bears and pickles. He only gave me a little because it had been a while since I ate solid foods, he was afraid I would get stomach ache.

Qing nodded, "I still don't understand how the hell you could do that, but you are amazing! I guess that's where Vladislav was wrong, he didn't think that you could use your power without Wynter."

"All thanks to my great great wizard grandpa!" Now that I had told Qing everything, I wanted to look around our house. "Qing, let's loo-"

My sentence got cut off by the sound of door slammed open. I stood up from the dining chair immediately when I heard the familiar rumble of thunder from the front door.

"DAYU!!" Anne's booming voice seemed to shake the walls. My sister shouted loudly as she stormed inside. Her face mottled crimson and her eyes popped.

She came running to me; her temper was like bomb, once the sparks started to sizzle there was very little time to duck and cover. Before I could think of the reason why she was angry, she slapped my cheek, really hard.

"W-wha-" My word came out stuttered. My cheek was burning from the slap, making my eyes water; not from the pain, but from the anger. Why did she slap me like that? What did I do wrong?

"You idiot! You could have died!" My ears rang as she yelled right in front of me. Her cold eyes burnt with dangerous intensity, but it turned softer and misty in a second. She suddenly hugged me tightly and sobbed in my shoulder, damping my shirt. "Never ever do something ridiculous again! Don't leave me like mom and dad did." She whispered in my ear with her broken voice.

The anger that I felt evaporated instantly. She was so scared, that was why she slapped me. I moved my hand up to hug her back, stroking her back to calm her down as I was muttering 'I'm sorry'. I really said these three words a lot today. I made a lot of people worried.

I looked again to the front door. There stood grandma, mum, Qing's dads and Jedd, their faces full with concern and relief at the same time. I smiled apologetically to them and they came to us, hugging us both; even Kenneth and Qing joined the group hug.

It was silent for a few seconds before the hug was over and all of them started to talk at the same time. Words of concern, amazement and confusion left their mouths, they kept talking until Qing growled loudly.

"My mate just woke up not an hour ago, don't make him more tired than he already is!" Qing pulled me to him and wrapped his arms around me, gently rubbing my back. I sunk into Qing's warmth that surrounded me. My body melted into his as every muscle lost its tension as I bathed in his calming scent.

Then I heard Quinton clicked his tongue and asked Qing, "Did you give him the surprise already?"

I looked up at Qing confusedly, "What surprise?"

"PAPA! I told you not to say anything!" Fires of fury were smoldering in Qing's narrowed eyes; He was freaking angry at Quinton.

"Ups, sorry pumpkin." Quinton said before he covered his mouth with both of his hands. I rubbed Qing's back to calm him down a little bit. What surprise were they talking about? I thought this house was the surprise.

Qing sighed loudly and nuzzled my hair with his nose, searching for comfort. "It's not a surprise anymore when you already know there's a surprise."

"I can pretend I didn't hear anything." I looked at Qing and moved my brows up and down, making him chuckled softly. He suddenly pulled away from our hug and pulled my hand to follow him upstairs "Come on, I'll show you your surprise."
